yea it does... coz what happens is... if the sensor sense that theres something blocking the roof... in this case its the dust and old grease accumulated... what happens is... the sensor retracks it back...

IMO, I wouldn't lift a finger trying to fix this problem. Bottom line, you bought a new car with a warranty, and paid $20K for it. If the problem began during warranty period, they owe you a service you PAID for! It's not your job or the forums job to be the expert; we do it for fun. Toyota technicians are supposed to be trained expert professionals and should FIX the problem or replace the whole roof. It's that simple. And the fact that they would fail to diagnose the problem and fix or replace whatever is necessary kinds makes me angry. If we can expect service like this, then we might as well but a used car!

Now I've had previous issues with longo, but they more than fixed the problem and even have me a huge gift certificate (which I used). My suggestion is that you make a big poop storm until somebody addresses the problem. You HAVE to get management involved if the service tech is not doing his job.

And if all else fails, Norman Taylor has a near flawless record of wins in their lemon law cases.

I 100% agree with this guy. Shoot, with 30k already on my car, I wouldn't mind getting a new one due to the Lemn Law.
