Right.

Don't leave 'cause someone with rough edges is still learning to play well with others - as you say, "tolerance."

wow cant believe I have missed this post fo all this time.....I couldnt agree more with whats being said.....

I remeber the good ol' days when everywhere i drove you would see another scion whether hooked up or not and we all waved back and forth. and cruising around orlando 25 cars deep just cause we wanted to and there was no drama... but then one person says one thing and its relayed back andforth like the telephone game back in grade scool and by the time it reaches you again everything has changed and your statement is unrecognizable.....This is why i dont go to shows and meets anymore and why i dont even bother posting anymore its just too much BS and its not worth the time wasted on it. I wish things could go back but obviously the damage has been done and more than likely our community has been changed and will never be the same... what a shame!

I honestly think a lot of the online BS is stress-related.
Society has changed a lot since I was young, and I think Tom can back me up here.
When you get online, and someone rubs you the wrong way, it's easy to let off on them because there's no consequences.
People are way too stressed with things like political correctness, jobs, families, traffic, bills, etc.
I know that I sometimes found myself jabbing with someone just because it felt good to let off some stream.
But since I've been trying (really) to mellow out, i do feel better.
Easier than Xanax

Peace fellow SCION peeps.

I hate to say it...but the drama, from my experience in any auto forum seems to be manufacturer/model/age related to some degree. For instance, I doubt a Lexus forum has a lot of drama....or any forum for vehicles where the majority of the folk who own them (and spend time writing to each other about them) had to the spend significant time and effort to educate themselves or otherwise have enough dough to buy one.

It has been my experience that drama in any car forum seems to appear when the vehicle(s) being discussed are more readily available to the masses; and inside these instances, people often have more difficulty being civil when discussing certain models within the same manufacturer's line....based sometimes upon the demographic age of the person driving that model.

In a nutshell, it has been my experience that young people driving inexpensive modified/modifiable cars bicker over stupid $#!+ more than older people with more means.
