bsp_tc_06, what does your car look like? do you have any photos? I'm going to keep an eye out for it when I'm cruising around Omaha.

 

what a waste of money. i wouldnt let anyone ride with me on the track. thats extra weight i wouldnt want lol only way id let anyone ride with me on a track is for tuning purposes only lol. i dont even live that far from omaha and ive yet to ever hit MAM. im so lazy =P

 

I stopped caring about being the fastest a long time ago. It's all about the fun factor for me. Once I got a chance to ride/drive in a bunch of cars to see how unique they each are, I learned that speed and fast times has nothing to do with how much fun you have. I have the lowest HP car out there on track days (~110HP) but everyone who has driven it came out with a smile on their face (including myself). It could be that my standards are low too, lol =)

what kind of mishaps? I don't see anything externally in that first photo you posted. Was it all internal mishaps?

 

well first, last summer on the way to work at my old job i ran into a ditch. gravel road is the only way to get to it, bald tires yada yada. wasnt even going that fast but there is this nasty hill on this road and they just put fresh gravel out that morn. like i said ran into the ditch. shifted the driver side of the hood over about a 1/4in not really notice able. scrachted it a bit and so as well as the front bumper. also that winter i got lightly side scraped so there is a small 2 inch long dent and a few scraps. then the gf scraped the wheels and broke the back truck latch but just got that replaced. yada yada. ever since i hit that ditch the srs light stays on so i must have broke one of the sensors so got to get that replaced. mechanically the car is great! other than turbo mani and downpipe cracking from wear. just gonna get the mani welded and find either online a 3in down pipe or just get one made dont know yet. she could go for a retune since the cracks are leaking exhaust so the afrs are a little off.

 

I too am near omaha --just got xD--sounds like maybe another near the area, maybe a quick meet up at Shadow Lake would be fun, its the outdoor mall on hwy 370, there have been a few car shows or meet ups there over the last couple months, not strictly scions though.

 

You know, I've never actually been over to that shopping mall. I may go check it out. Let me know when the next meet up is, I love all sorts of cars.

How do you like your xD by the way? It has a beefier engine than it's predecessors...

so far i love the xD. I enjoy the smaller car versus my last bigger car. it is a 2009 the only thing I really want are rims. oh and an armrest.

The mall is off of hwy 370 and 72nd street, it is not westgate mall.

 

hey cool i live like right down the road from shadowlake. and ive got an xd as well and love it. i just completed a 4035 mile full round trip tour to cali and back and it heald up awesome! lets meet up!

mine right now is semi gutted for some secret squirrel missions during the winter time and just minor things. if you need help with anything i know my way around the xd somewhat. lol

usc_ty i just hit up santa monica and la. we just stayed the night and part of a morning. lol mainly just to say weve been and see what all the fuss is about in cali.

 

There's not much to fuss about. There's a neat burger chain called In-N-Out but that's about it. Lots of smog and too many people...I don't think I ever want to live there.

 

in n out is awesome! first time i had ever ate it! and yeah there was way to many people and everything moved way to fast. lol i mean shoot from the border of cali all the way to the shore on the highway the speeds were 90+ in rush hour, it was quite scarry especially since i had no clue where i was going.

 

Hey guys what's up? My name's Jason and I have a 05 tC. I'm glad to see some omaha people up on here. The scinergy chapter here is pretty weak. We've got a facebook page, but the dealership doesn't have a Scion Champion right now, so I don't know what's going on with it. The few people that were in the club are now at http://www.syntheticedgeonline.com/ We're having a get together tonight at the Ihop on 15th and cornhusker at 9pm. Not just scions, but I think there's like 4 or 5 tcs now and a xd, not sure if any of you are already in it, i don't know everyone.

The scion people are also planning to go down to Pinups on the 16th and 17th if you're able to make it.
