You're probably right, but it would plant down more than a tc being rwd obviously, I would feel sorry for the clutch with drag radials

that video is the dumbest benchmark comparision you can make for those types of cars. They were not built for straight-line performance, they were made for handling and driving pleasure. comparing these cars these cars in a drag race is like comparing the Shelby Mustang GT500 and the Chevy Camaro ZL1 MPG figures. Who cars? the cars were not built for high MPG. By those measures, my BMW and my turbo tC pwn all because they would annihilate the S2k and FRS in a drag race, and get better MPG than the camaro and mustang. lol.

I'd be interested to see a comparison of how the cars do around a tight technical track to really dissect the cars handling characteristics before you say "S2k pwns all!"

The S2k is too small for me to drive, but I test drove an FR-S, they handled great, and fit me like a glove once the seat was all the way back.

i posted the video becuase it was new at that moment. it was to give a ruff idea of where it stands in a drag race stock. why complain about any of it? a race is a race, at the same exact moment. the time was not the issue, but rather the results. every thing, is not for every one. this is not the final product for everyone, as some will make them dyno queens, track kings or show only. this is the car everyone wanted scion to build, so relax and enjoy.

My point is I like these comparisons and reviews better because they're far more relevant to what the cars were designed to do, be well handling sports car. I'd love to see a comparison so how the new BRZ/FRS compares to a Honda S2K in terms of handling, but since you can't buy a new S2K, I don't know if any magazines are going to do a quality comparison between the two.

Let's compare a $35k car to a $25k car, brilliant!

^Should we compare it to a V6 Mustang instead?

I like how people are talking about mods again for the FR-S just to keep up with an S2K.

or the fact the s2k is at least 3 years driven. i like the it's an "auto" cry, and the GT-R and EVO aren't?

That FR-S is indeed a manual. We see the S2000 pull away through gears, no doubt it's a little quicker. That S2000 engine is probably better built judging by the cost. We know now that S2000s turbod can make 500 whp daily and last a considerable time. I hope the FR-S makes 400 whp turbocharged and does the same. My latter statements are more vague, but you get the idea.

^ it was an auto..it was already stated by the people who did the video..but regardless if it was a manual the brz would lost...but yea lets hope a turbo makes some good power on the frs and the engine can handle it without messing up..

lol at everyone complaining about frs's lack of power.

Once best motoring gets ahold of one, and calls it how it is (an AMAZING car, perfect for canyon carving/etc), everyone is going to love it

If you don't want it...don't buy it. There are plenty of cars with more power, that cost more out there.

There is also a reason the low-powered miata has a huge following....

F*** it i just ordered a red MT frs today..dealer said it should take approx 5 weeks..that gives me time to work some OT and save up for better tires and better looking rims! Ill put some breathing mods on to give it a little kick when the parts become available.

Are you sure? I thought I could hear rev up from both cars before launch. And the auto has a gear indicator right next to the digital speedo, but it wasn't indicating like a manial.

Yea im sure...i was reading a link on it...it was an auto brz...evotv also used an auto when comparing it to the renault. Thanx man i just happen to go in today and they said a white one had left like 2 hours before i came but it was an auto...i was expecting them to say like 2-3month for a red MT but when they said 5 weeks i was like wow i expected longer..im trading in my tc2 for 15500 with just about 20k..i owe about 9k on my tc2 so it went with it.. i ordered a wing on it but i was told it might not be on the car when i get it, that i would have to come back and make appt to get it installed when they get it(got the wing for free cuz i wanted more my tc2 and they said how bout we throw the wing in for free and u accept 15500 so i said fine).. i also ordered the bespoke radio with it too..when it arrives ill put some pics up..

Still wondering why there was no gear indicator...Yeah I'd like to see some pics man. I still owe about 5k on my tc1 lol, want to trade mine in too, don't know if I can though

Edit: Looked up the French based company and the other videos posted by the uploader, it's a Subaru BRZ limited and 6 speed manual.

Here's another video of it going from 0-200 km/h.
