what are you talking about? the vehicle industry is all about the mpg battle now...and if this gets the proposed amount...as well as going looks wise against the smart fortwo...this will make a killing...toyota/scion would make a huge name for themselves with this car...and besides....just because you drive a tc doesn't mean you're gonna get flamed for having a scion if they have one of these little mpg masters under their belt...


and look at the bright side...get one...gut it....throw a busa 1300 under there and you got a lot better looking iQ devil....the smart devil just doesn't have the looks....they're ugly....this is actually stylish...

yeah but the general ignorant public links all scions together. if they think one is bad then, me, as a scion tC owner will get pwned. lol.

they will say, "oh...you own a scion". either way im proud to be a tc owner beyond a dought.

i just think it will take "gas guzzling" americans to get used to this one.

Squashed M-Class Benz?

 

I've known it for several months as well but Toyota just announced it a few weeks ago for it to be in the Scion lineup.

 

volks, coilovers and a bada$$ sound system should do me well.

 

all great ideas. I'll be waiting for that guy to fork the cash over to build the copycay Smart with a busa motor in it. Volks on it? not gonna happen. Scion will dump all kinds of money into custom builds and still no one will care. still a clown car no matter how you dice it

 

They would have to price this pretty low...near 10,000, I would think. After all, it would have to be a lower price point than the already cheap Yaris, at 2009 price of 12,205.

Maybe half the price of the 5-door Yaris hatchback?

If we're honest with ourselves, the vehicle most closely associated with Scion is the Gen 1 xB. Scion knows this - look at how prominently it features in the Scion United commercial, even though they're whoring out a car they exectued. So if you haven't already taken **** for being the cousin of a mutant toaster, I wouldn't worry about the iQ.

In my opinion, bringing the iQ stateside as a Scion is about all Toyota could do to save Scion after the porked-out xB2 and stale, un-refreshed tC have nearly killed the brand.

Ironically, you're ABSOLUTELY RIGHT - the average fat, old, boring, SUV-obsessed American will shun the iQ, and Scion with it...leaving our brand alone for the edgy and smart people. Exactly like it was originally, and exactly like it should be.

If you want so desperately to be mainstream: for your next car, might I suggest a Corolla?

 

Benz already beat them to it, its called a SMART. I thought the xb gen 2 was the future, small exterior cars, with big interior space and great performance and fuel economy?

 

It's not a bad looking car, it looks more like a normal car than a SmartCar, which I think is a good thing for people who want an efficient commuter but not something that stands out like a moon rover.

I wouldn't spell it as "iQ" though... personally I am tired of the "stick an 'i' in front of it and it's cool" fad, unless you are Apple you are done with iThings! Plus I want to pronounce it the "Scion Ick" hehehe... Maybe the "IQ" to emphasize the acronym?
