Official 2011 Scion tC Thread (2nd gen)
But you're right, I'm wasting my fingers...

Yup, that about sums it up. Don't like the car, don't like the direction that Scion has taken with any of their redesigns so far, and based on your post I don't really like the direction the SL community has taken either. Some of us feel passionately about our cars, about our brand, and whats in store, particularly those of us who've been around since the beginning (at least for me with the tC, anyway). We want to talk about what's not working, what is, and how we want our brand to grow and produce better products. We want to hold Scion accountable for not maintaining Best In Class products, and for not putting out cars that generate the media and consumer excitement that some other manufactures do. We want the Scion back that was daring enough to import JDM cars almost without changes (crash and LHD), that generated excitement to sell almost 150k cars in 2006, to put out products that drove each and every one of us into a Scion showroom at some point...
But you're right, I'm wasting my fingers...
It was probably too long for you to read anyway.

preach on brotha!
But what you're not understanding is that droning on and on about what is "not working" for Scion and what you'd rather have them do on Scionlife is a bit of a waste. Do they read this site? Sure... but if you think you're being helpful about pointing out all of Scion's "faults" here on the internet, you're really not. Express your opinion, fine... but if you're that upset/frustrated/whatever with the current state of Scion - find a way to be heard that isn't repeating yourself over and over again on the internet.
Tell Scion directly. Have you emailed them your thoughts? Have you called them? I'm sure they'd love to listen (no, really, they would). This is the kind of feedback they need to hear - but as I said, repeating it over and over again on the internet really isn't going to do it.
But whatever... take over the thread with nothing but negativity, take over Scionlife with your crap... that's fine.
Obviously everyone posting in this thread knows better than those running every other company in the world anyway.
I'll stop "censoring" you all now...

I'm trying to figure out where the rear design came from... b/c it looks NOTHING like the Fuse concept. The rest of the car is very much Fuse. The rear just doesn't make much sense.
actually for me it looks like a blend of the last generation celica and a bit of the avalon taillights. but the weird part is the lights, they really eat into the tailgate opening for loading things.
While everyone bickers about what they hate most about the new tC, the rest of us will quietly trade-in or sell our current cars and embrace the future. You can count me in as one of them.
Someone who saw the car ahead of the rest of us said "you're either going to love it, or hate it." Seems like they were right, but hasn't Scion always been a "love it or hate it" kind of brand since the beginning?
Someone else said if they'd seen this new tC back when they were looking at buying a 1st gen tC, they'd have bought something else. No one can honestly say that, having something to compare the new tC to. If this tC were the 1st gen tC, it'd probably become just as popular as the old one did.
I, on the other hand, look forward to having a blank slate to work with.

Its hard for me to give an honest answer if I love or hate it...I am not moved enough for sure to trade in for that, I would take the older models over this...I am also not appalled enough to start internet flame wars. Would I buy this when new car time comes? No, I would not.
to be honest, if this is what was out back when i got mine (granted with the 2.4 stuff) i might have had gotten it.
if I didnt have my 2006 tC to look at and compare i wouldn't think the interior cheap, i wouldn't know any better, and it looks okay with a spoiler back there.
I like everything about the car except the back end and the cheap interior, but the rest of it is great. love the front end shots, its a good until it turns around, lol

im shocked no-one has photoshopped it.
some sick wheels and a drop should make it hot, like someone said about the Aztek earlier in the thread, any whip can be sick if done right.
if anyone is good at photoshop, can someone photoshop the roof line of the 1st gen tc on the new tc, so i can cry at what would have been, lol

Uploading a few shots. I barely took any pictures, but I tried to get the angles that really show off how bad the car looks.
Oh, and the new Cement color is really bad in person. It makes the entire car look like it's made out of cheap plastic.

i actually like that color... im sorry carbon i usually agree with alot you say.. but im sure in person its not as neat looking nice picks btw and that back window area im guessing the pillar area everyone is mentioning is HUGE
All in all, I like it! But here's my thoughts...
It seems that Scion listened and addressed complaints of:
-Cramped headspace in the back
-Needed better fuel economy
-More performance would be nice
I can't complain with those changes.
I think we all expected a redesigned exterior that was similar to a mazda 3 (sans joker smile), Altima coupe or tiburon. And the 180 turn from flowing coupe to sharp caught everyone off guard especially since we all fell in love with the tc1's curves. So in that sense, unless we got more of the same...maybe we're biased and lean towards dissatisfied with this.
All in all, the tc2 is getting attention, positive or negative...I dont think it matters too much to scion right now. On my part though, its all positive...i'll be test driving one come fall.
