Official 2011 Scion tC Thread (2nd gen)
LMAO that's called being upside-down. You owe more on your car than what its worth, when you trade it in the residual value will go on the new loan. Sure, you can pay less than what you're paying now but the loan term would be longer. The only way to avoid it is if you put a substantial, at least 10% of the purchase price down or had another trade that was already paid off. You can get a newer car at any time, dealers will happily take a trade and rape you on the trade-in value, before reselling it for 5K more than they gave you for the trade. Dealerships are a business and as such they're around to turn a profit, not a single one, is going to pay off your car and put you in a new one for the same interest rate and loan term.
This is VERY true. I honestly didn't even think of any of this...but thank you for the info. Personally, if my payments do go down 30-50 dollars, i'll probably end up doing it...i honestly couldn't care less about the extra time that is added for me to pay..because i pay as much as i can above the minimum anyway. So even if it adds an extra year and a half tops...it still wont be that big of a deal.
Im just talking now, it might be a different story when the time actually comes. Im only basing this on the pics of the car. I hated it when i first saw it...and then i saw a couple more pics a few weeks after from people who attended the NY Auto Show, i quickly changed my mind and i actually like it a lot. Don't know if that'll be case when i actually see it in person...so either way i'll be good. I love my 09...and if i end up not getting the 2011...thats when ill start doing modifications.
I was looking to get a tc before I heard about the new 2011 changes, now I'm really interested especially with the new 6 speed transmission and a tad bigger engine. Personally I actually like the way it looks, but I know most people don't apparently, but ya. I'll probably be buy one shortly after their release, for the price, seems too good to pass up compared to other choices.

Ya, I've also been looking into getting a used 350/370z, and ya I saw the new STI, simply sexy.
went to the tour where you get to go up close to them and the 5axis versions (IMO the iQs stole the show with the 5axis titanium and the stock "blizzard pearl")
but the tC didn't grow on me much, the steering wheel is much nicer in person, and i still like the seats. the ___ end and the ill conceived side vent things shooting out, i just can't learn to love.
almost thought they had a new tC snuck into the parking lot out front where we were all put on display but turns out it was an accord that slipped in.
and the 1GB USB bracelets they gave out to load videos and pictures from the macbooks they had setup were pretty badass, need 2 of them to load everything though, which they let us who asked get another but dunno how that might keep up.

I went to the tour here in Dallas. Honestly the cars are much more awesome in person! The stock tC is ok and I do like the Accord looking front end even though I hate the new Accord! But the red 5axis version was HAWT!
To those that have seen the stock tC in person... what was the color of the exterior? did the interior look any better (the interior is what I don't like, as far as, the AC ***** and the design on the seat covers) than in the photos published on the web? did they mention the price (edmunds says $18,800 - don't know if that's the std or automatic... if its the std, that is $1,700 more than the 2010 tC).
I'm growing on the front end and side profile of the tc.....but can't get myself to settle for the taillights....what a bummer...I really like the 6 speed and a tad bit bigger engine tho...Crossing finger for it being interchangeable with the first gen...
if some of you actually listen to the above video, it seems the seat fabric isn't production. this car still needs to loose the round passenger airvent and a slightly more aggressive front bumper. the snubby body lines are growing on me.
just think, FT isn't due now till 2013 at least. already too late and outdated. The Gen-coupe and Fiesta will be so far ahaead of it's competition
