It could a bigger version of the t2B Fastback
I'd absolutely crap my pants. I love my BOP xB and I hope this release doesn't compromise that. I don't care for the new bB style and bought my xB after seeing the conpcept pics, but I've always had a warm spot for the t2B, or any similar crazy concept.

Although it very well could be the tuner version of the tC everyone's been talking about.

It is going to be the concept for the TC replacement, We all know the TC will be replaced in 2008. So this will be the concept and Scion will get some feed back take notes and get it ready for production.

I would be perfectly satisfied with a lightweight MR2 replacement, with, say the 2ZZGE and weighing in around 2200lbs. Everything else would be secondary, amnenities, ect...

I love my TC, but it is a larger, heavier, gas-hungrier vehicle than I really want. Additionally, there is a European market Corolla Compressor with a supercharger for 215HP. That would fit the bill, and follow with the general Scion trend of re-using other products from the toyota lineup creatively, without additional development costs. What with the TC coming with the Avensis chassis, Celica suspension and brakes, Camry engine. It could be done, and the MR2 platform is still viable.

I could see something like an MR2 replacement as the sportscar of the lineup, and the TC as the semi-luxury car.

Before the TC came about I wouldn't have expected to see a car with the Camry engine in a nicer car with more amnenities for ~$2000 less. I bet Scion could do a MR car with near-corolla pricing.

2008? wow, can't wait to see it.

uhm, but then there's evo x.

what abt the specs on the new sentra se-r?

i guess i am just implying that they should up the stock performance of the tC (and thicken the paint job dammit lol). i mean, they saved lots of money already by using chromoly/alloy steel and cheap sunroof cover (that flimsy thing underneath the glass that covers you from the sun lol).

anyway, here's to staying positive

upping the power right now would probably up the price too much for Scions prefered price range.

maybe they have something up their sleeve though, which would totally rock my face off. (can't beleive i decided writh that last part)

Im thinking convertible ! Or Im thinking that the guys coments are just taken out of context. It just might be that we will see the RS 2.0 with a few details that are new or inovative but nothing crazy.

Remember folks this is a brand that is supposed to be aimed at new young car owners with limited adquisition power . I dont think they are going to come out with something totally different to make all the new 2006 tC owners feel like they want to trade in. Its Scion not Apple Computer's.

It might be a convertible car or the new tC with a hard roof to avoid all the rattles that seam to affect thes current ones. Calm down I think you are setting yourselfs up for a dissapointment only generated by yourself.

and apple or not they still are changing the cars out very quickly.

The people picturing it as an updated or slight variation on the tC need to read the words 'ALL NEW' in the op. I'm sure it'll be some goofy concept car, like the t2b in the same vein as the tC. But I'm hoping against the odds for something actually exciting, and I think it could totally be accomplished. Nothing about a MR car makes it super expensive to produce (cooling system is a bit more elaborate, but otherwise it's standard FWD engine/transaxle in the ___-end).

The reason the MR2 was so expensive was it's place as a halo car in the toyota lineup. We'd all like to see something with a non-FWD layout, and it's possible, assuming the scion trend continues. I, for one, can think of no other likely brand to come up with an inexpensive car in a non-FWD layout. The Vibe/Matrix has an AWD system and uses the 2ZZGE. And I still think it would be possible to pull the supercharger from the Compressor Corolla as a bolt-on addin a-la tC.

It would be beyond cool to see something of a miata/solstice competitor, priced less.

Tired of speculating. Waiting until I see it.

Seriously. With the New Gen celicas being FWD and not even having an All-trac model I was seriously disappointed and it resulted in me not buying one.

I think the US market needs a New Front engine RWD 4cyl to play with. Especially if D1 is really gonna grow in the US.

Until then I'll just auto-x my FWD

I like gammas way of thinking... I suggested this to one of the guys where i bought my car from about 2 years ago... but doubt he relayed it back up to the top...

i am pretty sure they are sharing/sold the mr-s platform with another company so that would help keep costs down...

i doubt they would want to waste a 2zz, since it was only in the matrix, corolla and celica... although they might change out the tranny since most inexperienced people kept blowing up the motors by putting it in the wrong gear...

but yup that get smy vote...

mrs chassis 2zz ... with lex styling =D...

oh AND LOSE DRIVE BY WIRE
my xa feels peppier then tc's...

Poor man/woman's Lexus SC430. To rival against the Nissan Micra C+C (Coupe+Covertible).

Surprised no one's posted this yet:

Inside Line says it'll be called the Fuse and it is a convertible.

hey, if they make a good looking cheap convertable, my mom would buy it in a heartbeat, she's begging for a new car anyway.
shes tired of her '95 Lumina and since she doesn't have to carry my brothers and sisters around anymore she has a chance at a more exciting vehicle.
