I respect your opinion, but i'm going to have to disagree with you on that. I love the newer look. When i see the retro style like that i automatically get Magnum P.I. stuck in my head... or Miami Vice. LOL!

Oh I love the new look too, but those cars aren't Lambos. Lamborghini was always about pointless vents and giant wings. The Gall/Murc are way too...sophisticated to be considered Lamborghini's. IMO Lambo died after the stop in production for the Diablo. Aka, when they became VW's.

The tC isn't a Lambo by any means, but i'd like to see the next Gen tC descend into similar styling to the Reventon without being as dramatic as Lambo's are. I respect ur opinions which you are 100% entitled to, but for me the Reventon is simply awesome and 2nd to none. They are always leading the pack, instead of following..

http://www.seriouswheels.com/cars/20...i-Reventon.htm
The Carrera GT is nice also, especially how the curvature is integrated into "some" it's style. For me however, it's just something about both lights that kind turns me away..Nevertheless, one cannot deny the Carrera GT's badass factor which any mainstream car is always in more need of.

In terms of the "fuse" being the next gen tC, my emphasis previously stated was that the new xB is basically the sedan version of the "fuse".. Sure a coupe version would be nice & beneficial to the market, but certainly don't let that be the replacement to the tC. Perhaps market the coupe version xB as a limited edition or a special edition xB2 or something.
I think the tC has earned enough value for itself to have it's own completely different style instead of a variation of the xB. How it should be styled is up to the design team @ Toyota/Scion (my opinion above ).

Let's not forget the FT-HS:

In any case, next gen tC has got to compliment those new vehicles soon to arrive.

I'm on the fence about that one. If they softened up the angels a little it might be a little more pleasingto the eye. just my opinion, of course.

With a front end like that you can deflect road kill straight into the air and on to the guy a few cars back. haha

Seeing the FT-HS right next to the LF-A made me realize that they're very similar.

Just take away the concept styling of the FT-HS and you've basically got the LF-A. Hopefully this means Toyota is finally realizing that they need something sporty

*cough**cough*

Yeah, they need to bring out something that will compete with the GT-R. I'm a former nissan freak so I really like the GTR, BUT the price is insane. How about a Scion tC-R?
haha

Take a tC and extend it, make it a mid-engine, Toyota's V8 and supercharge it. Lexus does have an all-wheel drive system in some of their cars too. They could do it... but it probably wouldn't be economical enough for toyota.

ahh, anyway.....

Nah, tC-R would be outclassed & outpriced in the GT-R range.. Supra (future version) could be able to compete or maybe if modded (in theory), but definitely the LF-A would topple the GT-R in luxury, and hopefully performance. They better the equip the LF-A with every goodie imaginable.
What I suggested in my first post is for a tC (+/-R) to be able to PWN $30K & under$. To take a tC and redo it to compete with a GT-R is stretching the tC beyond it's class (under $20K).
I guess the whole concept with the tC is that it's customizable with the skies as it's limit.... We just want a platform with a proper foundation in which we can build & mod to takeout the competition in any arena.

I think this is what's gonna replace the tC, Toyota is gonna badge it AE86 in Japan and have Scion badge it the "new" tC, IMO

I hope to God the final version of the tC replacement looks as far from the Fuse as possible. That thing is hideously ugly and too full of wannabe "trendy" styling elements to the point it looks gimmicky. I'd never buy one and even wrote in and told Scion so via email. It's not so much the front or rear, it's that awful roofline and the lack of "flow" to the whole design. It's one of the ugliest concept cars I've seen in years and there's a whole ton of oddball stuff that appears out there yearly.

Far as the tC being "cookie cutter"... that's hilarious in it's own right. I work in a Grammar school, the day that I brought my 2007 FM tC into work... I had a co-worker literally bolt out the door after work and run, full-steam, across the parking lot to come check my car out. I mean, she actually even parked near my car on a regular basis just to be able to check it out! I've had no shortage of comments about it from the rest of the staff too, everyone really likes the way it looks, loves the color, and even my students I work with love seeing the thing roll in on 18's. Suffice it to say, in photos it may look a little less impressive... but in person, it's overall shape, heft, and detailing draws people to it like mad.

True... it's not a Shelby KR, but let's face it... it gets better mileage, serves a different purpose, still handles pretty well (and doesn't punish you over bumps), isn't a stubborn and cranky old piece of Detroit iron that you have to baby and tinker with to keep going, and it's not something so ridiculously expensive that you can only drive it a handful of times a year due to collector insurance rates and all of that. There's a reason I gave up on cars from the Big 3 (too much decontenting, buying cheap parts, cut corners in terms of design and development), and every day I start my car I get a ridiculous smile for how nice everything is screwed together by comparison. It's not perfect and has room to improve, but it's better than any GM car my family and I have owned. In fact, it's enough that my dad and mom were impressed enough that they might go Toyota next round themselves.

I'd like to see the tC continue on though, in similar shape/form to what it is today. If we're going to add another model, how about a tD that's modeled after cars like the Sky, Solstice, and Miata... sort of a less costly take on the S2000? A two-seat convertible with RWD and a nice powerful but compact 4-cylinder could do the trick, give it a Scion-level styling that's uniquely eye-catching and I think it'd have a market, esp. amongst drifters. There's no sense in making 2 coupes though, which is why I lean towards a 2-seater and/or perhaps a "youthful" take on a sedan, maybe one of them 4-door coupes similar to the shapes of the new Mercedes, BMW, Audi, and VW sedans... just on a smaller and more affordable scale. It could be built on the tC/Avensis platform and replace the European Avensis all the same as be an all new stylish compact sedan. Given the right styling, might sort of be able to fit into that whole "VIP" look/theme. Either that or go RWD and make both the 2-seat roadster and a RWD compact sedan to accompany the rest of the FWD Scion models. That'd give people 2 cars capable of drifting, one with a bit more practical use and the other... tailored to the affluent youth who prefer sportiness to practical. All bases would be covered then.

I can't see a truck though just because it seems out of place IMHO... then again, I never would've predicted that we'd see the xB hit our shores but I do have to admit, I loved how "outside of the box" their thinking was in bringing us the box. I keep thinking that if Toyota did it, it'd end up like the A-BAT... sort of a mini-Ridgeline, vs. being some wildly styled Tacoma. To me, it's like a crossover pickup more than something with legit offroad cred. To me, that doesn't seem to fit what I think the youths would want. To me, that's more along the lines of the FJ which Toyota already has.

Ha - yea, Toyota should come out with something to run with a GT-R, something *ANYTHING* (pulling for a new Supra personally) but I guarantee it won't be anything with a Scion label on it. These are and always will be lower cost, high youth appeal vehicles.

Here's a question for ya.... The I-6 was pretty much replaced by the V6 that is in almost all of nissans vehicles now and Toyota, I think, only used their I-6 in the supra. What engine would toyota use if they came back with a supra type car again?

Just thinking...
