I was payin $190/mo for civic and TC. Sold civic and my insurance went up to $231/mo. They said because I didn't have the multi-car discount anymore. And that is with a perfectly clean driving record. That was with Allstate. I'm with Erie insurance now. I pay $139 for my 06 TC, 01 Ford Explorer and a 94 Jeep, same coverages(jeep only has liability). Shop around, you'd be amazed how much it varies from one insurance company to another.

Yep from what I found out on my estimate, Allstate is pretty much the most expensive insurance you can buy. They wanted $1300/6mo from me. I pay $540/6mo with State Farm.

As a 17 year old guy, insurance is quite high, and I had a 2005 hyundai accent 2d hatch. Insurance was somewhere around 2,000 year with no violations. I am listed under my parents policy and have every option as far as insurance offers. I just bought a tC today and my dad called for a quote before hand. It was only $250 more per year. I thought they were ripping me off with the 112hp Piece of S*** i had before, but my dad didn't listen when I suggested to shop around. Anyway, either the hyundai was overpriced, or the tC isn't that expensive.

Holy... a tC added $100/month and you're 37? Forget that man. Love Scion, but the tC is off my to-do list.

Yeah i hear wut you guys are talking bout. me myself works and owns a branch of farmers insurance and it sucks to be young and trying to be on your own. Farmers has a pretty good rate for me and if i was on my own my insurance would be 139 and since i added my parents im only paying 80 now which is better than 139. i also have acouple of clients that are driving tc's and being 18 to 24 they are paying 150 to 180 a month on good driving records but also depends on where you live.

what type of cash are you bringing in to afford a 07 tc and 07 civic si?

I only pay 150/month with my 08 tC and my mothers 05 Malibu. Im the primary.
This is only because we've known the insurance guy since my mom was like 20.
It saves a lot of money to know people.

What the heck?!? You guys are paying UP THE NOSE for insurance on tC's... I own a tC with 3 points on my license and for 6 months I'm paying $850. I'm paying about $140/month, and that's at full-coverage here in CA. It'll be MUCH cheaper with MI insurance (active duty military - woooot!). Also, I get a multi-car discount through AAA/MI... Right now, I have Geico.

I'm on the southside of Chicago as well and I pay $165 a month. It was $130 but one of the terms of me refinancing through my credit union were $500 deductibles. Lowering the deductibles shot the price way up. I pay $35 extra a month for insurance but refinancing saved me $70 a month so I'm still ahead.

No multi car discount for me as my other car doesn't run and it would be a waste to insure it.

I guess I shouldn't complain about $827 every 6 months for two tC's through USAA.
250 deductible all around and the $100,000 coverage each one.

I'm happy now

WOW, I can't say I didn't see this coming but when I had my tC it was about $100 more a year than to insure a corolla S. I knew my WRX was expensive to insure but didn't think it was number 2 on the list of the most expensive cars to insure. Goes to show how stupid drivers can jack up insurance rates.

I am paying about 130 a month on an 2009 with Progressive and I have a good bit of additional insurance to just protect me in case I get really hurt in an accident. I took Progressive's highest end built policy and cut it down a tiny bit. I learned the hard way that insurance companies are not fun to deal with when you have some of the lowest coverage. I had Eire and they were not kind in payment options or for younger drivers. But once I totaled my car (not my fault) they told me to go deal with Nationwide about my settlement since I wasn't at fault and they had no claim in it since I didn't buy more insurance (I had the coverage they recommended). For any of you that have Nationwide, they are very good at their jobs, i know this from first hand, and that is the reason I will not buy insurance from them. Oh and for the people that are saying Geico is expensive, they are if you are under 25 and have anything your record in the past 5 years.

not always. someone stole my tc, drove it to a forest preserve and incinerated it. So mine wasn't some poor driving choice that caused an accident or anything.

**** happens, these are hot cars apparently.

Just got new insurance last month through Wawanesa. I'm now paying $620 for a full year's coverage on my '06 tC. Can anyone beat that?
