This new xB is far better than the current xB. I loved the t2B and I'm glad to see they actually brought it mostly to production. This didn't even have to grow on me unlike the first generation model.
Im lovin it and im not even a fan of the xA or xB. I wish they would come out with two engine models for these cars and people would really be loving them. Or just turbo them up from the dealer ...then you start w/ some forged internals and they turn into the best thing. ....but toyota doesnt wanna do that.
Saw them in person today. xB2 looks sappy to be nice about it and the xD would be my pick of the two. The car has a better aggressive look to it. They showed the xB2 in the wrong color at this show. Had chick car written all over it.
I like the size and the engine upgrade, but they really messed up a good thing with the dashboard. I can probably live with the "Tokyo by Night" displays, but they (sob) deleted the great "bookshelf" in front of the driver and the storage spaces in front of the passenger and center console.
Digital speedo is OK, but kind of reminds me of '80s Oldsmobiles. It was way kool then, but these days but I though we had outgrown the use of digital displays for things that are better done with analog.
The increased roundness about the wheels seems a bit forced, but that seems to be the trend with the PT, SSR, etc. At least they retained the fairly vertical side windows.
