Scion xB Unleashed in Chicago BODYKIT + WHEELS!
It seems that old xB owners are realing downing the new one, are they jelous? I had a 1st gen xB when they came out, and yeah they were cool for about 6 months and then I noticed little things I dident like about the car, im sure when people get the new one they will also complain about little things about it to.
I say give it a chance first, it seems scion builders were trying to listen to buyers and make an aprovment to the older car, well this is what they came up with.
BTW Around were I live theres mostly old folks driveing xB's

I love my 1st-gen xB. I believe that its essence is captured in amazing roominess, tossable handling, defiant styling, exceptional fuel economy and a low price -- minimalism at its finest.
I'm sure the new xB is "nicer" in many ways, but I'd rather have an upgrade more in keeping with the original's "essence". For me, the new xB could have been the 4th model in Scion's lineup.

I see everyone with HID on their new XB. Does it make that much of a difference? I have seen 8000 and 5000. where do i get them? thanks

For years, a contingent of people have looked overseas and saw the smaller euro/japanese cars and wondered 'why not here?' Well, Toyota brought the bB pretty much straight over with minimal modification and we rejoiced.
So, a couple years later, Toyota opted not to do that again. Why? who knows. So, not it's not a jealousy thing - far from it. If you look from the E/J perspective, what is there to be jealous about?
There are two types of 1st gen owners - those who bought it because it looked cool/different, and those who really, truly wanted exactly what xB provides. Personally, if I could drive a smaller four door, I would. However, Toyota opted not to bring the five door yaris hatchback here either (see a trend?).
I've test driven several, and almost took home a 5 speed.
It's heavier then the gen 1 and feels like it. It's got more pick up, but feels like a pig going through turns. The couple inches extra interior space is nice if you move large objects which I sometimes do. The gold is nice...I'm not one for gold cars, though I have owned a "Gold Nugget" SAAB 9000. The Mica in the Gold Rush has a slight color shifting effect giving almost a hint of green when the light hits it a certain way...I really liked that since I love Mica paints. The sun roof was nice, but I have TWO extra-wide sunroofs in my Gen 1 BOP so it's hard to impress me with a nice power sunroof.
The only turn off for me was the gold painted interior parts. Looks kinda ghetto-ricer to me. Same with the gold specks in the cloth...just not something I'd do to my own box.
I spoke with several local Gen 2 box owners, and they all felt it was a more refined version of the Gen 1.
I'll stick with my Gen1 for now...lets see what RS7 looks like.
