Scion xB Unleashed in Chicago BODYKIT + WHEELS!
i don't know about you guys but i think the new xb looks hot as is. keep it stock, but slap on some led tail lights and it's good to go. and for those that don't like it, just wait 3 more years to see if the 2010 redesign looks better. which reminds me, the the tc is in it's third year...wonder what the 08 will look like
im in love with both the modded xD and xB. Stock just aint cuttin it. With that said, the main thing that may drive a lot of people away is the price tag for the xD and xB modded the way they are. Also xB insurance may be higher too! Lookin at both new models, the xD looks about 17-18K and the xB looks to be about 18-20K. Im sure I may be upside down on my xB if I were to trade it in which would make me keep my 1st gen and just have to sit there and watch everone else own the new ones. The price is gonna kill Scion i think...
i think as long as scion can keep prices on all vehicles below 20k, yet keep offering a sick amount of stock features like they always do, the company should be in great shape for the future. and i just saw a thread with pics of the 08 tc. pretty much the same, except new projector headlights and different looking tail lights. but the xb i'm starting to like more and more. i want the new one but i'd be upside down too, i'm under 5 year financing and only 6 months into it. and i'm hoping scion becomes like lexus, instead of luxury for the money, you have features for the money. and no more hatch rattle in future tc's...i have an 07 and that problem still exists. grrr. still love it though
I must say, I wasn't digging the new xB, but the more I look at it., the more it grows on me. It has some of the new bB elements like the rounded fenders. I also love the new interior. Although I hate the white seat belt buckles.
woah wait. Give me that shift **** on the xB! That's a nice OEM style, for sure.
Anyway, why are people wanting a 1.8L engine? I'm reading the same thing in the tC thread. I can udnerstand if its for fuel economy, but I read some ridiculous statement about "1.8L 90000000 RPM redline super duper 300 whp" what the heck? That's going to be one super strung out and stupid sounding engine. There's no replacement for displacement, friends! :D

First of all..."THANK YOU" for all the props and feedback on our kits! Those of you fortunate to get blitzed in Miami, saw them and.... for those special few, actually remembered them. As you saw the xB got a little TRD"d along the way to Chicago but still looks good.
I will fill you in on more detail stuff later. Just wanted to say, keep on posting so I can see where we stand.
I have to say one thing though.....HHR? C'mon, pass the pipe. The only thing similar is the it has four wheels and tires. I shamefully rented and drove on of those HHR things, at the Toyota dealer show of all places, last year in San Antonio. The dang windshield header is so low that I thought all the stoplights in Texas were higher than those in Cali. At pole position I couldn't see the friggen lights. I had to duck underneath and look up. I later realized the H-point (point where your @$$ touches the seat) was so high and the front window so low.
Sorry, I really don't see the similarity at all. Okay off the soap box, onto the floor again.
Anyway, I'll check back in a few days and post some details on the kits, changes to the produciton kits (yes, there will be some minor "improvements" to the showcar kits) and so on.
Thanks!!!

I must admit I was VERY disappointed at the first stock xB shots, but the 5-axis revamp goes along way to making it seem like a viable tuner vehicle....
I wish that they had kept the length and some of the unique styling cues of the first gen, but I'm starting to see some possiblities for the new model. BSP w/VIP anyone?

in a GENERAL sence, it does have the same basic shape as the HHR. long and and low with a long front end and wierd lookin rear.
i don't like how the interior is settup and the exterior just seems odd... even with the xD. it looks like they took the xA and tried breading it with a Mazda RX8 and the doctors came out out with the flipper grand child. the 2nd gen xB is a simular situation to me... xB meets HHR and invites RX8 to join the party...
Here are some of the photos I took today at the release... I'll try to keep the xD and xB photos seperate... its true wha tthey say, they are a whole different car when you see it in person!

they may not all be ther best but i was also videotaping it as well so it was hard to remember what i shot already!

in no way does this look like an hhr.. i had one as a rental and siting in this did not remind me of that at all.. infact, i never even thought it looked like an hhr even now tht you have said that. it is again, unique
