Then you'll have a hard time accepting it when its sitting in front of you. I dont care if you believe it or not. Nothing wrong with pearl white. Like I said this is from the upper management of the dealership. Take it or leave it. I dont care.

Rumor has it, else where on the site, that RS3 xA will be Stingray Metallic, any one know if this is true?

Just thought I would add a little somethin'~~ I heard a rumor or 2 that said although the xD will have a 2.4, it will still get mid to high 30's on the highway and right around 29/30 around town. Just because it will have more power doesnt mean that fuel economy will go down the toilet.

I'll believe that when I see it. Toyota couldn't do that with their own car, the tC. The camery has the same 2.4L and is rated 24 city, 34 hwy, but we all know thats magic make believe numbers. The bigger then engine, the more drastic the difference between EPA mpg and real world mpg. (Yes I know the camary weighs alot more, but I expect the new xD to weight 2800 as a guess. Adn the Camary has a lower coeffeceint of drag too.)
I want to see some real world numbers, even the current xA doesn't meet its EPA numbers.

I'm more concerned with price than mileage. Any "rumors" on that?

The xA starts at $13,320...

With all the 2.4 talk and concept cars I've seen, I doubt we'll see another Scion that cheap.

There was mention that in the rumors thread that the new xA would be aout $500 more. Really, by eliminating the 1.5L production line, it might save Toyota money to just produce the 2.4 for the xD, xB, tC and camary rather than running a seperate production line for the 1.5L.

I understand Scion going monospec with only 1 engine...... It keeps the production costs down. Just choose the bodystyle and options and then it's up you to "personalize" it.

BUT... A 160hp 2.4L 4-door hatch for $13,900?? I doubt it. Unless they REALLY cut corners elsewhere. That crappy paint and those rattles would get MUCH worse!

I wonder it they are discontinuing the toyota matrix that is why they are releasing the M hybrid theory as a last hoorah
the xA is already a smaller version of the Matrix, if you look at them side by side, you can see some differences, but you can also see that the basic design is almost identical, only smaller on the xA.
far as i can tell, the xA just has less room behid the rear seat, and the engine compartment is packaged better. the main cabin looks about the same in size.

Caldina is the JDM Matrix. Not sure if it's still offered but the Caldina used to have the 3sgte engine option tuned at 250 hp (I think) and AWD.

Or maybe they could use an engine from a different platform rather than the Camry to keep the price of the car down....
