Default ***Viniati V-Style Spoiler Installation*** (HELP WANTED)

Hey everyone,

I recieved a Viniati Spoiler for my tC this past Christmas and it's in the shop being painted right now. I'm picking it up tomorrow afternoon.

Heres my problem...

I really don't like the idea of drilling into the trunk, and I remember seeing an earlier thread of someone that used double sided tape. With the tape, I can remove it without worries of having the holes covered and what not, but of course i'll run the risk of losing it on a speed bump...

So basically, is double sided tape strong enough?

When using double sided tape make sure you have someone help you. Once you set it , its pretty stuck on there. Good Luck

i'm thinking about doublesided tape too......but i'm concerned that someone might just walk by and rip it off... Is double sided tape gunna be enough protection from that?

It takes a hell alot of effort to take it off. I took mine off to reposition it and took alot of effort to take it off. I dont plan on removing the spoiler again unless I have to. Its a done deal.

2 things to reasure u.
ventshade products such as rain and sunroof deflectors use 2sided tape.
the down force produced will really keep it on. after u get it put all the way on, u would maybe brake it b4 pullin off the whole thing. let me know when u want to stop buy the crib and show me. i live in woodstock now. (SIXES)

just to give you an idea, i have a 99 pontiac grand am gt that I removed the door paneling off of. Pontiac uses double sided tape from the factory to adhere the panelling to the door. So, regular driving shouldn't pull the wing off. However, I've used double sided tape to mount gauge pods to my dash and had my car broken into. The theif stole the pods off the dash. My point is simply this... it won't fall off, but if someone wants it, they'll do what they can to rip it off, possibly damaging your car. But as someone said, they won't know its only on with tape. ;)
