Good call, I was thinking about drawing some up to have cut by a machine shop but that would be much easier. I hope they turn out well.

I see you used RTV silicone, I would recommend the proper butyl material. In case you didn't seal something or wish to undo the retro, silicone is gonna be tough to work with in the future.....

I should have made it a little more clear to use it on the outside of the headlight for additional protection against water entry. Also it's pretty easy to remove if you need to enter the headlights again.

Update: Modded projectors to have flat cutoff instead of the very TALL step cutoff, just to distracting when driving.
Also added Yellow 4-chip superfux (Oznium) drilled in the back of the blinker reflector connected to the parking lights. Halogen Amber blinker fully functional still, just wanted a little more visibility up front.

PICS

Lexus RX330AFS retrofit impossible, projector body is just to wide!!??!

Cutoff looks a lot better. The stock step is pretty big lol. Looks like that brought more of the color back as well.

Flat cutoff looks much better, color is from the VHT flat black which creates a high contrast between the black of the shield and high intensity white of the HID bulb...otherwise know as chromatic aberration. which creates the blue/purple at the bottom of the lens and Red/Yellow at the top if light was to shine out the top.

Oh ok. I'm familiar with CA in the photography realm. I didn't even consider that occurring with a projector.

I had to modify the spacing between lens to the shield to remove some of the color, it was just too much!! As for the huge step, it's not centered and it's a little much...so a flat cutoff works best.

Hey, what are the smallest projectors out there that you can run HID's in as low beams? I have an idea for a new retrofit project.

Ya, it's a nice touch, pretty easy too. Found the mod here Used a clear lens though.

Now I added a Amber Superflux behind the blinker to additional visibility.

Nice, yeah 2.5" is what I used too. I run a 7440 White LED bulb and rigged it to come on w/ the main projector to simulate dual projectors.

Looks great with the white in there, what are you doing for the blinker now? I thought about a Amber/White switch back in there, but haven't done anything yet. Blinker housing is pretty shallow. How about the heat from the white 7440? I don't think it would be a issue with OEM headlights, but Depo's would probably melt. Next mod for the blinker will be to add (2) 5 pin relay circuit to have the side marker blink also.

Dude, you think just like I do. Nice to see someone with the same taste. The 7440 LED bulbs put out like 0 heat at all. I had some halogen bulbs in there from PIAA and those got really hot. I actually have my blinker in the sidemarkers. Here's a video I did after the retrofit was completed. I have since taken out the blinker in the high beam housing since you can't see it during the day all that well.

I'm looking to do another retrofit but I want small projectors...I've seen Bosch Mini's, but not sure how good their cutoff is. I was looking at motorcycle projectors but they all have that dumb CCFL on them.

Looks very cool, great job.
I didn't think about the city light as a blinker. What bulb did you have installed in the city light socket?

Update: Just tried my High powered Amber LEDS installed in the side marker light and city light and the color was prefectly matched.
Just ordered these to install in the side marker and city lights.

Go over to HID Planet forums for info on HID projectors and TRS as a buying source.

Are you looking to retrofit/change your OEM low beam projector?

Thanks! You know, it's a little scary now how spot on we both are. I used a 194 LED bulb in the side marker and city light housing.

I'll head over to HID Planet and see what they have got going on. I'm looking to retrofit/change/and do a massive OEM + overhaul. The low beam projector is going to get some company, that's all I can say. I have to see about getting a spare set of headlights on the cheap.

Kinda crazy we've taken the same route changing things up!! For me it's safety and visibility.

The 08'+ OEM Headlights have limitation because of the builtin shroud, basically theres only so much between the mount point and the shroud. See the list below of test fitted projectors, Having TRS here in ATL I have the chance to try fitting just about every projectors out there.

RX330 non-AFS 50mm
, will hit shroud
RX330 AFS 48mm (too long, will hit shroud) UPDATE: THESE PROJECTORS WORK IF USING THE DEPO OE PLASTIC BRACKET
TSX 44mm just right, might need to space forward
D2S 39mm little short, not recommended, poor performance
S2K 41mm just right, might need to space forward

Here's how I improved the Depo H11 projectors LINK
Stock Halogen can be improved and usable, there beam is not wide, but they travel pretty far down the road and the have a big foreground limiter which limits the light just in front of the car until 10'-15'.

Stock OEM Koito Projectors blow these away though. Koito makes the best projector bowls, hands down.

Yep, looks really good. I de-boobed mine by taking the lens from the 1st gen tC headz.
These things look spot on to the OEM's, they did a good job.
