Default 8000k HID's in the tC

Xenon Cool 8000k HID kit... Took about 45 minutes soley cause it took a while to figure out where was the best place to place the ballest. Once i figured out good places to hide the ballest, it was no more then 100% plug and play.

They look good, but i dont know if i will be keeping them at 8000k... I spoke with the person that sold them to me a few days ago, I asked if i could, if i wasn't happy with the lighting, return them and get a 6000k bulb. He said sure. Or i might just buy a set of 6000k bulbs. I don't know, i've had them for 1 night, and i think i'll need some time to see how much i like them. The last 2 pics are not a true representation of the image. There isn't that much glare as the pics indictate

I did drive around for a while to see how other cars reacted to the lighting, around the city, i was just another car in the mix, there were more cars driving around with hi-beams on for no apparent reason, those are probably more annoying then my hid's could ever be. Although, i did adjust the leveling of the lights and lowered the high points a bit just to make sure they weren't a issue.

with all that glare your getting i'm sure the other cars aren't very happy either
just try lowering them a bit
that's what i had to do with mine

in my opinion i think that 8000k is too high a kevin
if you think its kinda blue now, just give it about 2 months or so
they will "break-in" and it will get more blue
i got 6000k and i think they are alittle too blue
the choices i had where 4300k, 6000k, 8000k, and 10,000k
4300k looks almost yellow so i didn't want that
wish they had 5000k, would of gone for that
good luck on your choice

I got that exact kit about three weeks ago and I like them, personally I think they are more white then the 6000K, the pictures don't do it justice. Your response was the same as mine when I first got them, but now I love the color and wouldn't change them at all.

Did you buy them from S2ionline because Alan is very helpful and would switch them for you free of charge I bet.

trust me, your no other car in the mix. You stand out now with alot of glare wheather you lower the beam or not. I personally would have gotten a TRUE 4300K bulb. REAL HID bulbs tend to "color shift" and get a bit more bluer as time goes by. Im not too sure about these kits bulbs? with 4300k, you would have been noticeable too, if thats what your trying to do?

BTW- its "ballast"

Right now, I am going to wait a week before i decide if i'm going to ask/buy another set up bulbs... I asked Alan, and he told me the kalven change happens with the bulb, the ballest are all the same.

Also, what i noticed in the previous HID kit that i had was that over time the light went from a 6000k output to a 5000k output.

I did lower the light angle significanly. I know how it is on the streets of chicago, i'm not too worried about standing out too much over some of the other crap that people do to their cars

how did you adjust the height of the lights. it seems like mine are pointed to low. i got the 8000k and i love the look and the light output, i just dont like the way the are pointed more down than normal.

The 8000k look good. If you get 4300k you are going to blind oncoming traffic even more so due to higher light output.
