I am amazed at these "it's f%ckin' hard to change the license plate lights" threads. Mine took all of 30 seconds to do...

1. Pop off the plastic covers on the Hatch
2. Turn left until it 'pops' out.
3. Do the same to the opposite side.
4. Swap out bulbs
5. Put harness back in and turn right until it locks. (x2)
6. Put plasic covers back on.

Don't be afraid to use a little force. Once you get the hang of it, you will be like, "Aw man. That's it?!!!" Yes-its that easy.

Some of us have man hands, so it's hard to get a decent grip for leverage to twist the harness in such a small opening. After the first time removing them, it was way easier to change bulbs.

I had to use some pliers to get them loose. I recommend disconnecting the wires before using the pliers, and be careful in the process.
