Default Digital HID 55w kit from Lightwerkz.net

Has anyone else purchased this kit on here? If so has anyone experienced one light fireing up for a second and then turning right back off? Also has anyone ever seen a light flashing/strobing even when the lights are turned off??? This is what I am experiencing with this kit, and I think I can say that its not the balasts or bulbs because I have seen one light fire up for a second and then shut back off on both sides. Now I do have a wire harness that didnt come from lightwerkz, it was a harness from ebay, is it possible that the harness cannot handle the 55w kit? Or is the whole kit just possibly crap? I hope not for $180...

It's really hard to say. Have you switched bulbs around to see if it is the ballast or not. My MobileHID kit is 2 years old and the ballast on my driver side is beginning to go. Every now and then the light will just go out or when I turn it on it will go off after a second. I tested with another ballast I had and the light stayed on so that's how i knew my ballasts were dying.

some HID kits come in 55w but you should be using 35w. I read this in one of the ebay HID threads. 55w will melt your headlight enclosure.

55w hid will not melt the melt the headlights. I have had 55w hid from ddm for over two years on my tc and on my wrx with no issue.

You NEED to run a relay harness for a 55w kit. Use the eBay one you mentioned.

You have the same problem i had with my bike about light flashing and this is due to alot of power going into the light system . You have to make sure that your relay kit is actually working and if this is not the case then your hid 55w ballast is mad or a lemon . I sell HID at my job all the time and sometimes you see them flashing and when we change ballast everything seems to work just fine.

yea I am def thinking that either my relay fuse is bad or even the relay switch, or most likely the ballasts. I really dont think the prob is the bulbs.

They wouldn't ignite in the first place if it was the bulbs. Replace the relay and see if that helps.
