Headlight wattage *low beams* tC
I just got back from the store and they didnt have silverstars, so I ended up purchasing some other cool blue headlights... but theyre still made by sylvania, so I figured theyre not total crap... anyways theyre not bad... but heres my question:
I know the tC uses 9006 low beams @ 51 Watts... the ones I purchased are 9006 @ 55 Watts, is this going to be an issue with wiring, or possible meltdown of any part of my system?

Yeah, I don't know why people report here that SS bulbs don't last - mine all have for years...
Anyway, blue lights only look cool if you're looking AT the car - they don't work worth a damn for actually seeing anything when you're driving.

CoolBlue lights AREN'T blue... they're very white, but less white than the SilverStars.
XtraVisions are brighter, not whiter
CoolBlues are whiter, not brighter
SilverStars are brighter and whiter

Yeah, theyre definitely very white when you look at them... honestly, let me tell you the difference between the Sylvania Silverstars and the Sylvania Cool Blue from what Ive noticed so far:
Silverstars: Extremely white & a WIDE band of light distribution from the bulb (which reflects better off your headlamp housing reflectors)
Cool Blue: Also extremely white, but it seems like they made it so it doesnt shine down low anywhere near as much as the silverstars. Theyre not blue by any means, and theyre not cheap looking, and they ARE street legal.
Difference in price for a pair: $20
My conclusion: Theyre okay, but I would rather spring for the silverstars, they just didnt have them!!!

So seeing as I'm curious to this answer as well, has anyone, WITH THERE TC, had silverstar 9006 low beams work for a long period of time or have they all crapped after a few months. Also, I guess I should do some checking into this, but the 9005 High beams run at 65 watts. The tC only puts out 60w, so will these crap quick as well?

I've been extremely curious about doin that as well. I was checking out a sight earlier that gives about 6 examples of retrofit tC/BMW headlights. I love the look of the merged 3 series "bubble" and the 5 series angel eyes.
i dont mean to hijack this thread so sorry ahead of time but it cost mostly time. but the cost of the material involved is about 200 dollars for the headlights and 250 dollars for the projectors
and 60 dollars for misc.. stuff like connectors, sealant wiring.
to me xenon are must from here on out..
it hard but if you do it for the first time no pun intended..so my advice is check maximus96 thread and hid planet ...i recommend thinking it through fully before trying this because many things come up like you have to weather proofing the ballast and all relays using silicone if you live in a climate that has different types of weather. and for god sakes take your time doing it.if i had another opportunity i would try a couple things differently
