Hey quick question....
is it safe to reopen my headlights after they have opened once already cause they are sealed with silicone so im not to sure appreciate the help

 

It's ok as long as you seal them back up good. I'd also make sure to remove the older stuff.

 

yep, ive done it, like he said, remove as much of the old silicone as possible and re-aplyit correctly, you should be fine

since were on the topic of headlights, wats the best silicone/sealant to use???

 

Don't be so quick to remove the old stuff. What are you guys using to reseal the headlights? If you use silicone then how are you going to open them again if you need open them for any reason? The factory sealant is great because it is heat-activated. You can usually get away with opening each headlight 2 or 3 times and resealing with the remaining factory sealant.

 

no, i dindnt mean remove the factory sealant, i meant remove the old silicone he used the first time it was opened, once u sandwich them together, then use new silicone around the light. and as for opening them with silicone on them, its easy silicone will peel right away, i used a small flat and a blade to remove as much as i could then proceded to open the headlight

but yeah i heard something people call "nissan stuff" to seal headlights, what is it, and where can it be bought?

 

Oh, my bad, I thought he was talking about the factory silicone. I guess it isn't really silicone.

 

But yeah, I would like to know where to get some new "Nissan stuff" to seal my headlights properly.

i want to see the ingredients they used to make this "stuff" to make sure 'skeet' isnt one of them

Yeah I found it on an Acura website. It seems that you can shape it and mold it any way you want, like putty or something. It's heat-activated, so it should behave the same way as the factory sealant on our headlights.

 

wow thats pretty expense for sealant yo just use taky tape like used when i reassembled my headlight we use it on air crafts so you know its strong stuff
