HID??
okay so now i'm wondering if I should buy the aftermarket HID kits. I was planning to buy one, but now it sounds like retrofitting would be a better idea. I really want my bulbs and ballasts to last for a decent amount of time. My car is my daily driver so I expect it to be reliable.
Any suggestions?
Oh yeah, I was wondering about the installation of HID aftermarket kits. When swiching the old bulbs to the ballasts and new bulbs, is splicing the old wires for the bulbs required? I'm asking because what if I want to use the regular bulbs again (although I doubt that) or if i want to sell the car with stock bulbs.
Any suggestions?

When you buy a kit to install it should have a new wiring harness that goes to the old harness that went tothe bulbs........then to a relay and to the battery and then to ballasts............look around on sponsered sales onthe site and you will find several sellers of HID kits........and reliability is only as good as what you buy........and it should have a written warrenty.......modding anything on your car willhave it's ups and downs........on average headlight bulbs last 3-5 years.........same with HIDs I would imagine........Ballasts........about the same.........look arond you will find the answer.

Even with OEM components when retrofitting, you make your own harness so there would be no splicing of the stock harness from your car.
I just ordered my 2nd HID kit.
First one was a piece of crap. Learned the hard way about "You get what you pay for" ... pieces of crap lol
Anyway, this time around i went with mobilehid. Very great product.
Crisp 6000k light.

Love it
