Default HID Problem..Need Help ASAP PLZ

Hey guys I have an 2008 Tc. I have had HID in them for about one year or so. So tonight I dont kno wat happened but one of my HID bulbs started acting funny. As I turn on the car, the right side bulb turns on then turns yellow color then flickers then shuts off. But the left side bulb is fine...So what do u think is the problem? Do I need a new ballast or do I need a new bulb? Please help me out guys. Thanks.

are you using a relay? sounds like the factory harness or the ballast... If you needed a new bulb, I don't think it would turn on at all...

Go check the factory harness to see if everything is ok there. Some ppl have melted theirs without a relay. You can also try switching the ballasts to see if its a faulty ballast...

take the good bulb and try it on the bad side (using the bad sides ballast) chances are you probably have a dead bulb. If you look at it is the center black?

I asked the mod-express guy and he says I need a new bulb because since the bulb is changing color to yellow the lifespan of the bulb is almost over. Thanks for all your help guys.

Before you go and buy a new bulb though, take the harness off and check the the harness for corrosion, also check the inside of the ballast. It could be possible that moisture might have gotten inside the ballast and corroded the contacts. (It happened to me a few months back). If everything is fine buy the new bulbs and also buy some Dielectric grease to put on the ballast contacts.

Most probably the ballast for sure. U had similar problems with a brand new kit. Got a replacement and it worked fine. All this after I swithed everythi g to the driver to passenger side. Just to male sure it wasn't a bulb etc. Also check relay harness and wires.

same thing happened to my friend's HIDs..he said that when his stereo isn't working (and this isnt the stock stereo) his HIDs would work just fine..but when his stereo IS working..his HIDs would act up again..and it's just one headlight that's doing it..but yeah it could be the ballast..i hope this doesnt happen to me.

always use a relay with HID..the hids are too powerful to run on factory electical and could cause problems..or lead to a shortin the car and youll be screwed..

defintely sounds like a bad bulb...i would just turn it off wait 30 secs and try it again sometimes the bulb does fully ignite it happens..if it happens all the time replace the bulb...the wires have nothing to do with the bulbs other then providing power...if there was something wrong with the wires the bulb wouldnt come on at all but that can also be a ballast..

the relay is pluged into one stock harness which wouid be the driver side...as long as you have a relay which is drawing power from the battery you should be fine..but i would wrap some electric tape around plugs so it does cause it to heat up and youll be fine..

for the people that run the Plug and play kits have them into the stock which is not good...could melt if it does goona have to figure out how bad it is and thats rare ive seen car electriacl system sort out do to not having a relay not fun..

Where is a good place to order relay from thats good and cost effective? Also if I install the relay would I need to install the switch or would it still turn on with the factory light on turn ****?

you can get a relay off of ebay just make sure its the same size as the bulb like 9006 connector at the end...

there realy consist of power and ground battery conectors.....first you would run the wires through the engine bay on both sides of the headlights...

you only need one relay they say get two but not needed...but only one side is goona be pluged into the factory hardness that the d river side

so the driver side will consist of pluging the realy connector to the factory harness.....then you got your ballast..and the lights itself..

the passenger side only needs the ballast plugeg in...and when you turn on your headlights just like if you would with your stock it would turn on both sides...

you dont need any special switch..

if you need detials instructions..

just PM me i will help..i help people with this all the time...
