Cool How-To Guide: Replacing a Broken Side Mirror

Hey all. I recently experienced an intimate encounter between the side of my garage and the driver's side door mirror on my '05 tC. Completely freakin' discouraged at the idea of having to rely on local dealerships to repair my super-stupid mistake, I turned to the forums to see if maybe there was a slim chance someone else had done the same, and knew enough about the fix to post what needed to be done. And lo and behold, I found just what I was looking for! So, as a thanks and as an opportunity to help someone else that finds him/herself in the same boat, while replacing my own mirror I made a video essentially showing how it's done. The link's below - hope it proves useful to someone! Thanks!

Didn't watch the whole thing but that triangle piece can easily just be pulled off without a flathead. Just pull from the side next to the window glass. No need to scratch anything.

@ SuperMario - man, it hurt my heart when I heard that *crack* sound. Good luck getting it replaced quickly and easily. :D

@RoboCop - thx for the heads-up! Luckily I didn't scratch anything when using the flathead; but great advice for others checking this thread out - 'preciate it!
