i tinted my tails, 3rd brake light, and mirror turn signals today. i'll have more and better pics tomorrow but here is a little teaser.

here are some nice pics with the freshly tinted tails... they still look a little dull. i have to wait 48 hours to compound them. hopefully i can get a little more shine out of them.

 

hey if un already clear coat the nightshade can u sand the clearcoat out and add more nightshade??

 

you can use the nightshades over top of the clearcoat if you want. it won't be a problem.

 

well im done my break lights, ill post some pics when i get time to finish them, they came out dull so im going to have to sand um down alittle and add a ____ load more clear coat, hopefully that fixes it...... they came out exac match as jonnyHKboi dull as hell lol......

 

you have to put the clear on really REALLY thick. keep spraying it till you can see reflections in it. there will be a thin line between the right amount and running though.

thanks bud, yea they look even better now that i used some scratch-x an then the NXT wax on them. they shine pretty good now.

 

well i bought 2 more cans of clearcoat, im going to try to do it tonight when i come home from work and let them sit till the morning befor i go to work... ima spray the hell out of them =)

is there a duplicolor equivalant to the VHT nightshades because i cant seem to find it.

 

the pics in the diy aren't working. could you please replace them because i'd like to do this, and i'm kinda retarded when it comes to stuff like this.

 

well since this thread has come back to life i will post up new pics of my tail lights after wetsanding and buffing then to a perfect shine.

 

So I did it right the first time, but i wanted them darker so i just took them off to do it again. However, I wasn't thining and after I put my coats of VHT ( which i put too much ) I went straight to sanding. Now even after I put on the clearcoat, if its to close you see the lines and if its too far its still a bit hazy and you can see the scratches from sanding. Any suggestions please?

 

^^use finner grit sandpaper and wet sand . that should get out the minor scraches.
