Pictures of the tail lights in direct sunlight. Kind of a medium tint but it's what I was going for, especially since cops in California are really touchy about tint and blacked out tail lights.

 

^^They look good, but you can't really see the amber can you? I mean you can only see the amber in direct sunlight. I really like how they look in pics #5 & #6.

 

That's correct! Unless you are right against with a lot of light you cannot see the amber. If anything you see the lines of the chrome that seperate the red and amber....that's it really.

How the hell did u get them that shiny ive wasted 2 bottls of clear coat on mine still dull as hell!

 

Did you put it on thick? Use rubbing compound and wax?

 

Rubbing compound and wax...hmm ill have to give that a try all tho I feel burnt out on it, ive taken off the Tails 3 times and heavily coated them with the clear....im about to just buy some stocks and sell those for dirt cheap

 

put the clear on thick, then wait for the clear to fully cure. wet sand again with 2000 grit, then use rubbing compound on a buffer. then wax wax wax...

Technically these ARE illegal in California (like everything else), but as long as there is somewhat of a hint of the red reflector and the turn signal is visible from 200 feet away (day and night) it shouldn't be any problem. This is what my brother-in-law told me and he's a cop.

 

May i ask why the original posters photos are not showing?

 

Just finished a set of OEM tails for ModernEuphoric. Let me know what you think. BTW, the last picture is what the lights look like against DIRECT sunlight, those specs on it are dust particles.

 

Just did a pair of tails for my car, I did many coats of VHT then some clear and after looking at them i want to go a little darker... is it ok if i sand the clear with 1000 then spray some more VHT on them?
