Ill post pics when its done
If you already cleared them and want to go darker, I would wet sand with 2000 grit ( just to remove a little bit of clear). Next wipe it dry with a microfiber, and add the desired amount of VHT you want, next wet sand again with 2000 grit and then clear them.

Lastly, post pictures of your work. I just finished one of the TYC's for myself. Will post pictures later.

come help me, where did you buy vht?
Yes, you can get it off ebay or buy.com. Just recently Sherman Williams ( another paint company) bought out VHT Paint. From what I hear they are not going to be selling any VHT products within the next few months anymore. If you want a list of local retailers that sell VHT products, go to www.vhtpaint.com and click on the top where it says authorized retailers. Who knows a local shop right around the corner of your house could have it in stock and you not know about it. That's what happened to me. Otherwise you will have to get it off auction sites like ebay.

Try, www.google.com/products

Thanks for the reply - thats what i did already haha... ended up i didnt like how the clear coat itself finished so i wet sanded with 1000, more with 2000, then used rubbing compound then polished them nice and shiney. A nice coat of wax later and BAM HERE THEY ARE

I use my DA polisher with 3M Rubbing Compound (3 coats), Meguiar's Plast X (2 coats), Meguiar's Cleaner Wax (3 coats) and lastly buff with a microfiber bonnet on the polisher. I love doing these last steps because the surface goes from being dull and heavily scratched from wet sanding to shiny and glossy.

Does plast X do anything on a painted surface? I thought it was meant for applying to oxidized plastic

I noticed that it removes a LITTLE bit of the swirls caused from wet sanding.

^ Thanks wozman78. Easy mod to do if you take your time. Or you can go to a bodyshop and pay $150 for each tail light to get tinted like this.

i also want to add, to whoever is doing this. when you wetsand, u REALLYYYYY wanna make sure u have it nice n wet. On my first try, i guess i dint have enough water on one spot and it pretty much F*cks up the clear coat and leaves white scrape marks... and this was on 2000 grit.

Damn, these pics are good. I did mine with VHT a couple years ago. Didn't wet sand it because i didn't really know what i was doing. I used several extremely light coats and the surface was uniform, but def has a light texture to it. I may have to do it over after reading this.
