Default I hate deers

I just hit a deer taking someone home from my house...

I was going 30 in a 25 and this deer came out of the bushes from the right side of my car, went all the way across as I slammed on the brakes, and then went all the way across and I hit its hear legs as it jumped, it lived for a minute and then died.

My friend and I are okay, but now im sad about my car.

The engine is fine, radiator is good, I think the only problem is body damage.

The front bumber is broken, left headlight is completely out, the corner of the hood is bent in toward the engine (not touching anything fortunately) and the grill may be messed up. Thats all I can see, there may be some structual damage, I hope not, but im not sure. Im going to take it to a local body repair shop in town tomorrow and get an estimate for the insurance.

The hood

Another side shot, better light I think

If anyone wants bigger pictures, let me know, I just did this real quick. I'll keep all of you updated.

You are lucky it did not roll over the top of your vehicle. It looks like it could have been worse. Good luck with the repairs.

I dunno....it looks like you were going a lot faster than 30 when you hit the deer. I have knicked several deer while growing up in the country surrounded by cornfields full of deer and have seen cars with less damage that have hit a deer going 45-50ish. Hope you get your car fixed and glad you are ok. Hopefully, you tagged the deer and took it to a locker. Mmmmmmmm.....deer sausage......deer jerkey.......deer steaks.....mmmmmmmmmmmm

Weird. I was heading towards the capital (capitol?) yesterday, and I saw a few deer cross my path ahead of me. Fortunately, I was in my dad's beast of an SUV, so they wouldn't have stood a chance. Some people weren't so lucky though, from what I saw. As soon as I passed them, I heard one of them yelping, and I look in the mirror and see one flying across the road. It then just got up and walked away. I couldn't help but laugh.

Man, with so many people calling me a murderer you'd think I was aiming for the deer.

Anyway, I just got the estimate, and its $2,700...

I'm glad it isnt more, hopefully the insurance will approve it soon so they can get the parts ordered.

Thanks for all your support

I took all my pics when I got home, another guy who helped me out wanted the deer, and I felt like thanking him. So no pics of the deer.

Yeah that's hysterical.
If I thought it was injured, it wouldn't have been funny. But it was so casual in its actions, getting up and walking off, as if nothing had happened, or as if it were used to it. It probably screwed somebody's bumper over, which is partly what made it funny.

I don't know why I feel like I have to elaborate this. Maybe i'm just a ____ed up child.
