i just found out that audi and lexus are the first production vehicles to use led headlights. would it be possible to design our own headlights using leds? i mean ppl put them just about anywhere and create their own shape, right? and would they actually create a longer range of visibility than our hid sets (btw, i have a 12k hid set)?

 

well my stock halogens will be brighter and have a longer range of visibility that your 12k hids. If your looking for that i would go with something around 4300k. As for the LED headlights. I believe someone on hidplanet.com was wanting to do this mod but i lost interest in the thread? Im sure it can be done?

 

yea if u want better visibilty 4300k would be best and a retrofit would be nice too...but since the led headlight technology is still new im sure it will be quite pricey to custom retro them

 

the only thing i've heard about production vehicles having LEDs in their headlights are for their DRLs.

LEDs don't nearly throw out enough light at all for practical use... barely any visibility..

you would literally have to spend thousands of dollars and also use multiple high wattage LEDs to actually achieve something.
