Default leaving hood protector (bra) on

will leaving the bra on for a long time do any damage to my paint? i'm just afraid with the summer heat coming it may have some negative impact underneath. it's just where i am there are alot of bugs that end up on the front bumper, and i'm just trying to keep the front bumper on the clean side a little

Plus side... it keeps bugs from getting smashed on your front bumper and "prevents" rock chips...

Bad side... if you don't take it off and clean under it on a regular basis... dirt will get trapped under the bra, which could damage your paint... and leaving a bra on a car day in and day out will eventually leave you needing a repaint if you decide to take it off. The paint under the bra will not fade, while in time the paint on the rest of your car will.

In the opinion of a former auto body tech/painter (me)... they cause more harm to your paint than they do good.

on the note of the clear bra, you also want to avoid waxing it. If you do have a clear bra the wax can hurt it.
