Looking for Insulation pad (Needed?)
Hello everyone.
I have a 2006 Scion tC and recently replaced the front bumper, headlights, and hood. Taking off the old hood came with removing the heat shield (insulation). Where can I find this insulation to replace the old one. The old one was such in bad shape it fell apart in my hands like paper. The FL sun is harsh.
I've checked Amazon, eBay, various websites online. I keep finding the newer 2010+ Models and their shields. Would it be best to head to a junk yard and find it there? Do I even need one? Once we have to head back to the offices, my daily commute will be about an hour to and from work daily.
Thanks everyone.

Most likely going to be a Toyota part and I see they're roughly $250 for the OEM part...you could try a junk yard but being that these are going to be 15+ years old they might be hit-or-miss as far as the shape they are in.
It's probably not an absolute must, a lot of cars don't even come with hood liners anymore, but it can't hurt. If you can't find a decent one at the junk yard you could always go the route of some of the heat control materials that someone like https://www.designengineering.com/ offers.

What MileHightC said. You can pay for a New OEM Toyota Part No. 5334121050 found Online or your Local Toyota Dealer:
INSULATOR, HOOD
Or try a local junkyard or Pick N' Pull.
He has a Great Substitute Suggestion at: Heat and Sound Insulation : Design Engineering. Inc.
Personally, I would put something back underneath the Hood for Noise and Insulation.
Just my .002 cents.
