Mounting Front License plate on '08 tc
i searched and cant find anything on mounting the front license plate on the '08 tc due to different lower grill....can someone help me out - thanks
Obviously it is or he wouldn't be asking. I know it is required by law in New Jersey, just as it is in California. Even though the law requires it, I roll without mine. It looks much better and the ticket is just ten bucks. Definitely worth it.
yea in NJ its mandatory....i rolled without it for 2 months in my old tc til i had to go through a police check point one night and got a $60 ticket for it. I tried the zip ties on my '08 but it looks like crap
^ Not really true. Well, it depends on your definition of "mounted". Yes it must be mounted, as in not placed inside the windshield. However, I would consider a plate secured with zip-ties to be mounted. And when a cop is passing you head-on at 40mph, he isn't going to know if you are using zip-ties or a mounting bracket. When I got my last plate ticket, I passed inspection by having it tied temporarily to the Figure grille with pieces of string.
Pretty sure it's legal. I don't know the specifics of the law. However, you should put it on the left side. If it's on the right then an oncoming cop could say it's not displayed clearly. If it's on the left then you are actually doing them a favor.
