Obviously it is or he wouldn't be asking. I know it is required by law in New Jersey, just as it is in California. Even though the law requires it, I roll without mine. It looks much better and the ticket is just ten bucks. Definitely worth it.

CA law states that your front plate must be MOUNTED which means no zip ties

^ Not really true. Well, it depends on your definition of "mounted". Yes it must be mounted, as in not placed inside the windshield. However, I would consider a plate secured with zip-ties to be mounted. And when a cop is passing you head-on at 40mph, he isn't going to know if you are using zip-ties or a mounting bracket. When I got my last plate ticket, I passed inspection by having it tied temporarily to the Figure grille with pieces of string.

Pretty sure it's legal. I don't know the specifics of the law. However, you should put it on the left side. If it's on the right then an oncoming cop could say it's not displayed clearly. If it's on the left then you are actually doing them a favor.

yea but i e-mailed them and they said it should work. i think the only reason it works better with the honeycomb grill is because that grill has smaller openings so if the bracket gets loose it won't wiggle as much....other than that i think all the brackets are the same
