Is that a painted CF hood?

I like the idea of using those for brake cooling.

Water shouldnt be an issue as long as the filter's up high ... it would have to be down low/suction like a straw to draw up water into the motor.

No, it's a silver carbon/kevlar hood from CarbonEFX.

Thanks for all the comments everyone! I have a few people asking me about it already

I did something like this on my last car. the only problem was the engine bay got really dirty! Within a couple of weeks there was dust eveywhere. If you can put a fliter on the end of the hose, it should cut back the dirt.

As far as looks goes, I think everything is great so far. I really like how you've tied in the silver and black w/out being overdone. Great Job!! Nice lights btw. The vent mod you've done also looks really good too. Unless you really start racing and you do have the potential for your brakes to get hotter then normal, I think keeping it as a intake vent is a cool & functional idea. I've also done something kinda along those lines. As much as I like symetry and proportions, I really like the single sided intake vent. I think if you do the other side and not use the vents as braker coolers, it'll really make your front end look tacky and tastless. Anyhow thats my .02, but g/l on whatever you decide to do.

To answer some questions, i bought the hose from the same website as the air duct. They sell it in different diameters and in lengths by feet. I bought a 4 foot section and still have plenty left...for now.

I am definately going to keep just the one side for now. I don't think putting another duct on the other side is going to help anything. I don't like mods that don't have much function...at least in this case. I will put another one on when i convert over to racing the car (there will be many more changes next year).

I used black plastic rivets. The picture just has a glare that makes it look like there is some silver on them. I tried the aluminum ones (which i think will look better) but they were too strong and pulled through the bumper. I need to get the proper size washers to stick behind the bumper to use the aluminum ones. I will do that later. I need to take the bumper off again soon for something else.

Thanks for all the comments!

APR front splitter and APR GTC-200 wing came in. After the front bumper gets painted next week, all the parts will be going on!

I tried my hardest to take the Viniati wing off without breaking it but it snapped in half like two pieces of bread. Oh well, it had its problems!

I really want to thank Upscale Automotive for their excellent customer service and GREAT price! I had my order from APR within a week!

I think the duct is pretty cool. That wing would be ok IF it isn't three feet tall.

If I was a dick and saw you drive by when watering my lawn, I'd aim it at that hole to teach you a lesson.

But you're SE, so I wouldn't do that to family (:

dude the duct looks bada$$. As for the headlights please keep them painted, I love em. If your worried about the consistency of your black and silver theme just smoke out the sidemarkers or maybe apply some black eyelids :-)

Pffft, i'm a Steelers fan!

I have decided to leave the painted headlights in. I'm having a good friend of mine designing graphics for me in black.

The wing is ~10" high. They can be made taller with different brackets but there wouldn't be any need for that.
