Default Rattling from hatch

Just recently I have noticed a plastic piece or something rolling around inside of the hatch when I take my TC around corners harder than normal. Something must have popped off in an effort to open my hatch when it was cold here in NY.

The trunk still opens fine, but the plastic housing around the button now moves more than it used to, so I assume something broke off.

Is there an easy fix for this, or do I have to take apart the hatch to find the piece and reattach it. I also did a search for this, but did not find anything specific like this problem.

Are you talking about the grey plastic pieces that are on the edges of the inside of the hatch? Because most of the plastic on the inside is held in by clips of some kind.

Your best bet is to take off whatever is loose and see if any of the clips or anything broke.

I would believe so although it is hard to see by just looking at the housing around the hatch button as everything is in tact. That plastic piece around the button is a bit loose, so I guess it is safe to assume something broke.

Nothing is cracked that is visible to the eye, but I know for a fact something snapped when I tried opening the trunk when it was very cold out.

Are there any visuals to assist me in fixing this problem, or do I just remove those 2 screws by the hatch button?

I have the same problem also at first I thought it was my trunk cover not securely placed into the slot, I also have a baby car sit back there and thought it would be that too, but no I cant seem to find where the noise is coming from. I only hear it when I'm @ a complete stop when I start moving it would go away.

I think you can gain access to part of the inside of the hatch panels by taking out the interior plastic panels.

Is this easy to do? I see a lot of hidden spots where screws can be.

I will keep searching to see if there is a way to pop these out.
