So im painting my rims sti gold, i have 2 coats on 2 of them already but i noticed they are rough, can i wetsand with 1000 grit, or not wet sand and just sand with 1000 grit or what can i do, let me know? they were white before and were scuffed/sanded with 400grit.

 

if its coming out rough, it means you are not laying the coats thick enough and you may be holding the can too far away, usually roughness comes from all the "mist" of paint that comes from a can when you spray.

be carefull though, its easy to over-doit when painting if you lay it on too thick, and yes, wetsanding will work, but only if the paint is dry enough, otherwise you may just make a wet mess.

 

haha i might have^^ i was just tryin to do light coats to not get any runs..and be cleaner..yea its dry its been sitting there for 9 hours..so 1000-2000 grit wetsanded then dry, clean and lay anyother coat?

 

I did 4 coats of paint. 2 coats is extremely light.

 

wetsand with 1000-2000 grit and they paint again, you can lightly wetsand between coats to make it absolutely smooth
