I was wondering if you can modify the TYC's to look like the new RS3 tail or how much the RS3 tail lights would cost. Or if I could buy someones of their new RS3.

 

You can get red overlays for the amber turn signal in the TYC v1.0.

 

Since the housing is originally yellow/amber, if I get the red overlay AND put a red bulb in there will it fight through and be a red light for the blinker or will I be stuck with some orange thing?

I assume the redout for the amber on the TYC isn't a full overlay but... how large is it?

goes right over the amber... just to note, if u use a red led, u need a resonator or something that u get off superbrightleds.com

 

I was thinking more a red or chrome/red replacement bulbs (I guess incandescent?) over at autolumination.

My TYCs are sort of similar...

All you need is Vans Lens Paint. 100x better than an overlay and a lot cleaner. I didn't have to change the blinker bulb either because it flashes red, not amber. The only bulb I did change was the 'reverse' bulb to a white 12-LED. Here's a link for you if you're interested in the paint...

So the bulb in the amber portion actually flashes red?

 

Yep! Not amber. I too was worried about the amber portion blinking some sort of color other than red. (After painting them.) Once I installed the red TYCs and tested them, they flashed red. :D
