Default scratches plus a slight bend in bumper

I've heard that the bumper has a "memory" and that putting intense heat on it will get it to mold back into how it was pre-crash... can small bends in the plastic bumpers be fixed? I know bumpers can just be sanded down and repainted, but lets say the bumper was bent and had a crease.. can that be fixed? or is it better to just have it replaced?

it can be fixed without being replaced. At least that's what the people at the shop did to my other car last week...
