Ok, so I have owned the TYC tails from the start with my tC. I have a quest to remove all the amber from my car, and the TYCs have amber in them. So far, I have tried using nightshade to remove it, but it didn't come out great:



I am debating selling off my TYCs and getting some 08s, or maybe keeping my 07s. Does anyone have any pictures of an FM tC with 08 tails? I tried checking the FM cult page without any luck. Does anyone have any other ideas on where I could go with my tails?

Did you try polishing them after you tinted?

 

sand them down then paint the hole thing.. then use some clear coat and a little wet sand followed by some minor buffing.

 

Thanks for the info, and thanks for the pic. I didn't bother to polish them. I had them on for one day before I took them off and reverted to my 07s. Its not that it doesn't look shiny, it just has an awquard offblack color and a very dull texture.

Yeah, red out the top part of the lights... kinda like the RS3's...



I don't care for overlays, the real thing is always better...

Truthfully I am thinking of baking them, but I am worried about screwing up my expensive tail lights...

 

^I don't think you can bake them. You have to cut them open with a dremel.

 

Well good luck on the baking. I believe you have to cut the tail light apart to get in the inside.

 

Yea didn't read too much into it just yet. I'm looking around at different styles. I am almost thinking of selling these and getting the 08s, or maybe find someone who wants to set up a trade. Is that chrome piece always there on the 08s?

Keep the TYCs. The 'o8 tails are not good looking at all IMHO.
You should tint the whole tail to match the TBL.

I seen the post, dropped everything at work, PM'd him and got on the phone. It was local, I had the cash, and I cleared my plans for the rest of the day... I was determined!!!



I just had to have them to go with the full TBL...
