Default tc 3rd brake light

im know there have been discussion on the tc's 3rd brake light being pathetically only 1/3 the length of the lense but i cant seem to find those threads again.

has there been any efforts to modify the light to the entire length. wasnt there someone who tried to bake it in their oven?

i have a strip of leds that came off a spoiler that i want to place inside the tc's 3rd brake light casing. the light is 141.77 from the dealership...DAMN thats expensive.

i was thinking of doing the same thing. I just need to know how hard it is to modify it before i rip mine apart.

I'm still trying to figure out schematics for creating a circuit that will let me not only add more LEDs to the housing, but also light up like a meter, from the middle lights out and then back in toward the middle when the brake is released.

I was going to just buy something like a microcontroller and program that to do it, but that's a $100+ mod then. With a simple circuit consisting of resistors and ICs, it's like ten times cheaper to make.

I still need to figure out all the parts I need though.

$100 project if you involve a microcontroller? Uhm, I dont know where you've looked or what kind of microcontroller you're using but Atmel makes some DAMN good stuff and for something like this you'd only need one of their low end devices, which are like $2-$10.
