It’s going to cost exactly as much as you’re deductible. Insurance wil eat the rest of the cost then raise your insurance for a few years, so they will get there money back

yuh, if it were his fault. Being that it's the other's fault he won't be paying a penny.

From basic observation, your lookin at a fender, bumper spacer, front bumper, inner fender liner, possibly other damage but can't tell until it's torn down (I work in a bodyshop )

hey guys, thanks again for all the comments.

yeah, the liner for the wheel well is pretty torn up, so im sure they will replace that too. i really dont think there is any allinment issues, or anything wrong with the frame ect....it actually still drives very smooth and i've checked under the hood and it looks like it didnt mess with anything or bend anything. again though, i havent torn it apart, thats just from what i can see.

i really hope it didnt mess with my frame or anything, i really just nicked his bumper and mine, but mine came out with more damage.

i'd take it to a shop today, but i live in Utah and everything is closed on Sundays...so that sucks...will hopefully be able to get an estimate early Monday morninng, there is a good shop over in the next town, i dont know how many times they've put my cousins car back together , lol, but they do awesome work...i'll let ya guys know how that comes.

again, thanks for the comments.

Should I feel bad if that Utah thing made me chuckle? I know in some places of the US you can't by alcohol in the morning on Sundays. lol. Californians... so ignorant of the world (myself included).

I would still suggest checking your wheel alignment. Just looking how far your fender collapsed, your wheel definitely was involved in the accident. Have the insurance you're dealing with consider that possiblity. If you don't want tire wear pattern issues, get them to fix it right.

my gf had a 'hit n run' and was hit somewhere near that area too. make sure you check your alignment, her car (scion tc)started driving like crap (alignment wise). too bad the dealership doesnt paint parts.. i find that kinda weird, but then again i dont know jack about car dealerships and auto-body repairs.

Default how much is going to cost...

hey everyone -
so i just took my car into a good bodyshop today and got the estimate. total they are extimating at 2,245.99

i wanted to include a list of factory prices, thought it might be helpfull for some of ya guys.

Front Bumper Cover (# 5211921906) $222.57
Left Front Bumper Molding (# 5211621020) $ 23.04
Left Headlight Halogen (#8117021130) 179.45
Left Front Fender (#5380221120) $209.78
Front Wheel (#4261121170) $ 421.07

so thats that breakdown, i verified the part numbers with Toyota/Scion along with the pricing and it matches the bodyshop, so thats a good thing. (really, where else are you going to find a bumper for the Tc...good no one is making cheap copies of them ;-)

parts $ 1,055.92
other parts $ 146.00
paint $ 204.00

labor
sheet metal @ $40.00 = 5.3 hours
refinish @ 40.00 = 8.5 hours
total labor $ 648.00

tax and all that brings the total to be estimated at $2,245.99
so thats the update as far as today. i'll let ya know of theoutcome.

thanks again guys.
