Default VRD/APT Fogs

Anyone ever opened these up? I'm thinking about getting them and putting 4000K HID's in em. Of-course there will be massive glare. The reason I asked was because, if it is possible to pop these open somehow, isn't it possible to fab up a cut off shield similar to projector housings?

how about you do some research, rather then starting a new thread. Also how about you lay off the HIDs, its not worth breaking open just so you can run HIDs. I run 3k bulbs fine and they look the same as HIDs. If you decided to open the fogs up, you better seal them right or else your gonna have endless amounts of problems.

im pretty sure people have run HID's in them without even having to open them up...

do some research and find the right bulb size then find a kit with that size.

yeah, i did for a while.

i might do it again, because whenever there is a loswer in front of me going 10 mph under the speed limit, i just turned them on, and let the glare convince them to get outta my way!

That's the thing, the glare. I don't want to be ____ing anybody off because I wouldn't like it if I were coming from the other way. I was curious if anyone ever fabricated a cut-off shield INSIDE the fog-light housing.

Also Domo, I searched but couldn't find anything on the topic I originally was looking for. If you know of a link, hook it up, don't hold out on me and tell me to search and not make threads.

that seems like the default attitude with people who think they know everything on the boards these days.

ive seen people run HIDs on vrd/apt fogs and there is massive glare. its more the design of the reflector housing that creates the glare.

4. I promise to use the feature before I post new questions.
-Do NOT just tell people to search, help them perform a useful search instead.
-How Tos, DIYs and Tech section can be found on the Main Menu under Features

look familiar?

op, i hope you find someone to help

How 'bout slapping some vinyl on 'em? Play with different shapes and maybe get one that cuts down on the excessive glare?

Hmm..good call captainlaziness. I assume it would work better if u cover up some of the bottom portion of the reflectors and use a heavy overlay to act as a shield. I just want to know that if I buy these fogs that I can find or come up with solutions other than ONLY using bulbs.

When I used VRD's with my HID's I only used them on the highway. I didn't want to blind someone on the street or have them accidentally hit me.
