Default 05 Scion tC Consuming Oil ? @ only 58,000

OK, does anyone have this problem?

My 05 tC has 58,000 miles and is consuming oil. I'm losing about 1 quart between oil changes. I change my oil every time the maint. light comes on, or before.
I'm using Castrol Syntec 5W30
I park my car on a garage floor every day and there are no leaks.
The only engine mods that I have is an AEM cold air intake.

Has Toyota become relaxed on building quality engines?

Geez....I still have two more years too pay for this oil consuming car.

How do you drive your car? could be your valve seals.

My car has the exact same oil consumption issue- at only 18K miles. I run full synthetic too. No leaks, no smoke, no hard driving. I've had this problem with full synthetic before, I might try a synth-blend next oil change.

High mileage in my opinion would be over 100,000 not 58,000

I think we should all face it.............Toyota has made a poor quality engine in the 2AZ-FE

1 qt of oil loss between oil changes is considered "normal". Read your owners manual.

Sounds like a bunch of bologne.
What page in the owners manual would that be on?

My wife and I also own a 2006 Honda Accord v6 with 48,000 miles and it uses 5w20 weight oil.

There is no oil loss in that engine? 5qts in and 5qts out when time to change.

its the actual synthetic oil. my car has been doing it ever since i got my car its normal during the middle of one pil change to the next it u need to add another qt. a mechaninc told me its because synthetic oil is so thin compared to normal oil that it burns faster but its not bad or anything but i heard its bc of the synthetic oil cause as soon as i started runnin normal oil for 2 oil changes early in my cars life it didnt do that. and my car now has 64k

Don't remember what page (I just looked at it yesterday). I have an 08 xB but we have the exact motor so there shouldn't be any differences.

I call bs on the 5 qts in and 5 out. Did you actually measure it or are you just assuming.

Nope no need to measure.
You just check the dip stick before you drain.

5 qts in 5 out? I dont know about that one, engines comsume oil no way your going to get the same exact amount out as you put in. Ive been changing my own oil for years. When i empty my oil pan after I drain my oil I put the oil back into the QT. bottles that I just put in the car. I can never fill more than 3 1/2 or 4
