2005 CV Axle help with Top Bolt Removal...
I was changing out my cv axle today on 2005 TC automatic on the passenger side. I got everything removed except the top bolt on the indermitatite shaft of the axle (got the lower out). It just won't budge, you have zero room for leverage or a breaker bar. I soaked it in liquid wrench, and PB Blaster like 10 times... My arms are all beat up and my shoulder feels destroyed. It just won't budge. Any tips that could help me.... I really don't want to put it all back together just to go pay a place to do it. I'm sooo bummed right now... Thanks for any help
Where are you going at it, from underneath or from the side (with passenger wheel and plastic skirt removed?) Unless you have a lift, the side route might be easier.
If you're underneath, you may have to lift the car higher. If you're going in from the side, a long socket extension may give your breaker bar room to operate.
A socket universal-joint might give you additional angles of attack. Last but not least, a jiggle socket will deliver fewer angles but it's easier to get the socket on the bolt head.

For that top bolt, I took the downpipe out. it's way easier. Downpipe is 4 bolts + the o2 sensor socket.
To get the carrier bearing housing/braket off, I soaked it in PB BLaster for 20 min, then heat with a Bernzo. Tapped off lightly with a hammer. You can also buy pass axles w/ the carrier bearing bracket already on it.
I used a NAPA replacement axle if anyone is wondering, mainly from their good reviews from the CRV and Toyota Truck world, "lifetime" limited warranty. Car has no vibrations, have taken it up to 90mph. NAPA axle did not have a damper on it like you see on the OEMs.
