Default 2006 Scion tC clicks, No Start. New Battery, Starter tested to be good..

So, Me and a friend bought a 2006 Scion tC for $300 a few days ago. It’s got 200k miles, it’s an Auto. So when we went to get it all it would do when I turned the key was click. It’s got new spark plugs (done by previous owner), I just put a new battery in it (Cheapest one from Walmart haha, date is 11/19),
and had the Starter tested at AutoZone. It tested as perfectly functional. I also personally took it apart and inspected it, it looks good, all gears are in perfect shape. I checked all fuses (I had blown one when trying to bypass the purple starter relay, replaced it) they all look good.

Does anybody have any ideas? I’m going to try manually turning the engine today, as soon as it stops raining.

Did you check that voltage that is being received/sent to the starter? It could be that the starter is not receiving power/voltage as you said the starter was tested as perfectly functional. Also, check to make sure grounds are all secure.

Hopefully the engine is not seized as that could be a reason as well.

[Here is a video that could help]:

Did you test the alternator? I realize the battery is new but did you check the cold cranking amps? Scotty on youtube says a 6 month old shelf date can be too weak to crank a cold engine. If the battery ends up testing low amps and or volts, you can probably still jump start it. If it still won't start, try calling Walmart to see if they'll swap it out. If they won't swap it you should still be ok. A good alternator should recharge it to new or near new condition.

Pull the coil packs out and put the spark plug against the head of the motor and crank it have someone watch for spark. If you’re getting spark you’re good with that. Pull the fuel rail and have someone give it a quick crank to see if you’re getting fuel. If you are you know you’re getting spark and fuel. Other than that maybe the motor is seized. You could put a wrench/ratchet on the main crank bolt located into he passenger side of the car should be able to see it in the wheel well and turn it to see if the crank will move. If so probably not seized. Next would be all sensors. won’t run/will run ____ty with MAF disconnected. Crank sensor won’t let the car start of bad. Cam sensor as well.
