2008 TC missing when I give it gas, slow acceleration
I recently had my 08 TC in the shop because the CEL started blinking and when I gave it gas it was very choppy. They repaired a short to the firing system & did a tune up. A few days later the CEL came back on but was not blinking. I brought it to autozone and found out it was some EVAC thing(I can’t remember off the top of my head but I have the printout with the exact name) They said i could still drive it until it’s replaced and it wouldn’t cause problems. Well now I’m noticing that when I give it gas sometimes it feels like it’s missing/choppy but the CEL is not blinking and it doesn’t do it all the time. It has slow pickup, bad gas mileage, rough idle and burns a lot of oil. I just had an oil change no more than a month ago and it already need me to add oil. Would the evac thing be causing it to miss and have slow pickup? Of course when I bring it to show my mechanic what it’s doing, it doesn’t do it. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Im a female who knows zero about cars. Should I bring it to the dealership maybe? It has about 125,000 miles on it
The only time I've ever heard of a CEL flashing is when you have a misfire. There's a lot of troubleshooting you can do for them, but with the mileage I'd just replace all 4 ignition coils and spark plugs.
The oil burning issue could be a lot more serious though. Those had a big TSB for basically getting the motors replaced for excessive oil consumption. I think you're out of the timeframe to have that repair completed though.
The dealer should definitely be able to fix you, but normally their parts and labor comes at a premium price.

When the CEL came on and started blinking it was sputtering really bad to the point that it was undrivable. I made it to my mechanic but just barely. Now when it does it, it feels like the same thing is about to happen but it just sputters once or twice then it’s fine. Horrible pickup but doesn’t continue sputtering. I really don’t want to take it to the dealership bc I know they will charge a ton more but I just want it fixed. I’ll attach a pic of the part autozone said needs replaced when they checked why my CEL is on. Im just wondering if this could be the cause of the issues I’m having. Also, last year my AC stopped working one day. Wouldn’t even come one. The next time I got in the car it worked fine. Idk if that would do anything. It does shake a bit when the AC is on too.
A fuel delivery issue could be the cause, they didn't put the CEL code on that report to verify but if that's what the code said it's very possible.
Sounds like this thing needs a whole bunch of maintenance. AC servicing is one of the few things I don't do myself so I can't comment on it too much re: why it would not work one day but did work the next, but vibration when AC is one could mean your motor mounts are worn.
