Well if he tells us WHY he put in 93 octane, maybe the n00bs could learn something, and see that 93 octane isnt good for our cars unless they are boosted or have a piston swap.

When the hurricane's hit last year there was barely any gas around.. some stations only had 93. After looking around for gas for about 2 hours and going to 7-8 different stations, I finally found some gas, it was 93 so I put it in.

Yes I know you aren't suppose to use 93 in the tC.. and if I didn't know that I could of realized it 5 posts ago.. then 2 posts after that, then 3 after that, now your post and probably many posts to come.

WHY WOULD YOU USE ANYTHING OTHER THAN 87!!!!!

j/p j/p beating the dead horse. but yea, try to get it to throw the CEL again, the code may be interesting. it may not have even been the gas.

if you dont tighten the gas cap all the way, it will set a po44XX code or something like that. i work for a dealership and we get those in all the time. good rule of thumb, turn it till you hear three clicks. if that is not the problem then go see what the code is.

That is interesting that you get a CEL on 93. I started using 93 just this past week TO GET READY FOR THE TURBO...(So don't go trying to flame me). Anyhow, we have a full exhaust + S-pipe and no 2nd cat. It never through a CEL on the 93 either. So I'm curious to know what yours reads.
