AFTERMARKET INTAKE + EXHAUST-Which are carb legal??
I reside in CA and the smog req here is a B*ATCH.
I am planning to add aftermarket intake and exhaust ( Both INJEN)
but I read somewhere that these are not CARB legal.
So, which companies are carb legal??????
Thanks

NO aftermarket intakes for tC are legal in CA.
The only exhausts that are legal are axleback. Anything that interferes with, replaces, or omits any part of the emissions system is illegal.
CARB is not a regulatory body that you want to take lightly. If you should happen to get pulled over, and the officer should happen to take an interest in your vehicle, he can have you sent to the BAR to have your vehicle evaluated. The fine for tampering with the emissions system starts around $2500. From there, it only gets infinitely worse.

as far as i know the injen exhaust is carb legal, why wouldnt it be? its a axle back it doesnt mess with anything emissions wise both pre cat and main cat remain, the intake on the other hand is not , due to it replacing the charcoal filter i believe.
When speaking in terms of an axleback, buy it based on the sound, not the idea of power gains. The power increase seen by both will be minimal (if not negligible). Any real gains can only be had by thumbing your nose at CARB.
Someone correct me if I am wrong but doesn't it take years to get a carb # or carb exempt. I know if you go injen's website it will only take you up to 02-03 year vehicles now. Everything out right now should be carb pending and when I say everything I mean the things that are will become carb legal. Like intakes will be some exhaust will but not headers that remove the cat will not.
