NOS is a brand... it's N2O or Nitrous Oxide (Short - Nitrous)

Here's the Zex info....

If nitrous will be used with an aftermarket "Chip", it will be neccesary to install an ignition system that allows the timing to be retarded when the nitrous system is in use. In these instances, it is recomended that you retard the ignition timing 2 degrees for every 50 hp of nitrous use."

If you want to go N2O, and want to tune more HP as well, your best to go to one of the engine management options....

AND PLEASE... Do an insane amount of research before jumping into N2O.... it's not always the best option for a basic tuner... and it's pretty dang expensive to do right as well.... Trust me.... I know... $$$$

Not really. Retarding past zero will cause excessive heat, and glowing headers...(Never done that before ) But tooooo much timing advance will cause detonation.

If you want to blow your engine then spray with the ECU chipped. All the JET chip does is advances the timing and adjusts the fuel curve for more power. Nitrous + advanced timing = detenation. Most stock computer retard the timing and add additional fuel at wot which is exactly what you want with N2O.

You can't chip tc ecm's. They have a flashable memory. You can reflash it however no one except toyota and trd can do that. No aftermarket company has cracked it yet.

A company at SEMA this year is plaing on it. They bought a TRD reflash unit and are working on the codes right now. The said Toyota put tons of useless code to help hide the real codes for the ecu.
