Default coolant flush

I need to do a coolant flush. After watching that video, i got few questions.

is it safe to run the car without Thermostat?
And without the thermostat, does the temperature gauge still work?
There will be some tap water inside the engine after the flush, Will that hurt the car?(after adding premix Toyota coolant)

Yes, its fine to run car without thermostat.
Temperature gauge will still work.
I wouldn't use tap water, go buy distilled water.

IMO, a simple drain and refill with new coolant is more then sufficient.

thanks KiKaZ-tC,
I damaged my lower hose by installed it upside down. The belt rubbed again the middle of the hose and all my water leak out. I replaced with Gate's hose( $13 shipped).
And I installed the thermostat after the rubber gasket. The coolant was leaking out.
The correct order is thermostat, gasket, and the housing. I always have to learn things the hard way

I fill it with distill water for now. Napa and dealership is close today. I try to bleed the air out by idle with radiator cap off for 10 minutes. But after i drove 3 blocks the temp got high. I pull over and coolant reserve tank was empty, i fill the tank up again.

The temp is ok now.

Happy Easter people.

The front of the vehicle needs to be in the air with the heat on "high". That will allow coolant to flow into your heater core and air to escape. Make sure the lower hose gets hot and all the air is removed.
