I agree. People are so quick to want to reset t ECU or change back to stock to put the blame on the dealer.

But then there are tons of threads on SL about how someone hit and ran and now they have to pay for thedamage. Or someone hit their car door in a parking lot.
How can people get mad about someone lieing to the, when they turn around and remove their header before heading to the dealer?

(I do realize that not everyone who has a hit and run deceives the dealer, its just a generalization of SL members over two years of posting here)

Well most of the time the dealer will try to blame anything aftermarket to get out of warranty work.

This CAN be true, but not in my experiences so far.
But the remedy to this, is to stick your ground and DEMAND proof. There is a law out there to protect the consumer, The Magnusson Act outlines how it works. If they try to blame aftermarkt parts, tell them why it is not true. When you add the aftermarket parts, you know warranty will now be an issue. So you need to be knowledged enough to be able to substantiate YOUR end of it. The dealer can substantiate their end!!

The mechanic doing the work at the dealer pulled the oil pan for me and said it was probably gonna be ok. im going tommorow to go check it out. On the bright side of this, I will have a fresh engine for when i go turbo, but this still sucks. i dont like my baby going under the knife
